one infront of a walmart in maryland, one in a school in montgomery county, and i just heard they had a 7th shooting somewhere in virgina which makes i think, 5 of the shootings using the same bullet. i could be wrong.

A 13 year old boy was just shot in Maryland.
I'm wondering if this is one individual or if the first few were one person and now others have gotten the great idea to continue the spree, making it appear to be one person. Maybe that's just me...let's hope the individual/s are found soon so no one else will be hurt.

I would expect this kind of thing to happen in a downtown area of a major city but this is happening out in the burbs as well. That is the scarey thing. I guess the cops can't find a connection between all the victims. I wonder how many copy cat murders there will be out of this.

yeah... this is starting to worrie me. The 1st 3 in montgomery co. did not really bother me that much, but now the shootings are getting closer to anne arundel co its starting to bother me a bit. When i go out for my runs with my cross country team (I coach), I am constently looking over my shoulder. I hope they catch this fuck soon..

I live less than 10 miles from the latest shooting. Whoever it is, is moving around a lot. The first 5 were in Montgomery Co, Md. The next was in Washington DC. The 7th was is near Fredericksburg, Va. The latest was in Prince Georges County, MD. I live in Anne Arundel County which borders PG county.

I don't think any of these are copy cats. In each case, no one really saw anything. With the type of weapon he/she is using, it is accurate from several hundred yards. The fact that he gets away without anyone seeing anything leads me to think that he is firing from inside a van/truck through an open window or door. And he is picking his spots really well it seems.

I know a lot of my friends aren't going out shopping, eating, etc any more. I am looking over my shoulder now. Dropping off a blockbuster movie this morning, 30 minutes after the latest shooting, 7 miles from the location was a little nerving.

I hope they get this guy soon.

I am with Voronwe here, I have the tard on ignore. My partner and I were talking about this this morning and we both think this is not the act of some lune, but the work of a calculating and cold son-of-a-bitch. Al Queda maybe? Would make OMGIAMRETARDEDCAUSEALOTISTWOWORDS more sense, putting people in fear is what terrorism is all about.

I actually think this is in fact what is happening. I am also betting some larger scheme was foiled so they are reverting to stealth killing in small numbers reaking fear to go outside in certain areas.

your point is certainly plausible ninan.

i dont know much about guns, but my understanding is this rifle that is being used is not the hardest thing in the world to come by. i'm sure that ammunition for it is readily available as well.

basically somebody with a small amount of military training and a lot of free time to get good at shooting stuff is all we know.

perhaps there are terrorist ties here. but i think at this point you can't draw that conclusion. And even if it is a terrorist, it could very well be one of these fringe white militia types like Tim McVeigh.

At any rate, it is crazy. i wish there were easy answers and solutions to situations like this. i can't imagine how horrible it would be for parents to lose their children to this sort of mindlessness.

my statements are just based on what i've heard from the police press conferences. to the best of my knowledge they have not confirmed that this most recent shooting was linked to the others. though that suspicion cannot be ignored of course.

it is certainly possible that it is more than one person, a copycat or two for example.

i dont necessarily think it has to be anything more complicated than one crazy fucker.

yeah Al Queda wants Americans to run in fear, but there are plenty of crazy Americans, and I dont think we are doing ourselves a favor to assume that random criminal acts are terrorist acts until we have good reason to suspect them.

I used to watch FBI files and shows like that late night on the discovery channel, and I remember one of the shows featured a guy who had done something similar to these shootings, but there were only like 2-3 victims. He was a white guy/hick who just thought it was fun to shoot things, so I find it very likely that terrorists are not involved

From what I had heard the victims all seemed to be pretty random. Men and women of different age groups. I didn't hear anything regarding ethnicity specifically, but the report I was listening to was stressing the fact that part of the difficulty in catching the shooter was due to the lack of a pattern in his targets. So my speculation is that they weren't confined to a single race.

As much as I dislike Searyx he does have a point, the odds of this happening to your kid aren't exactly great. The person doing this is a sick twisted individual who's only goal is to spread terror and fear, if you keep your kids home from school you are doing what he wants.

there was an article last week i think it was about a group of 4 or 5 guys with high powered rifles doing target practice in some gravel pit.. gah wish i could find that again. i am pretty sure they were of arabic decent..

nothing furthur was ever mentioned about it however.. one of those things that as quick as it was reported it faded from the limelight.

I think that was the same group of 6 that were arrested for terrorist ties. They are still in the news quite a bit, but the details about the automatic weapons in the gravel pit isn't mentioned much anymore. I think there was something on the news that one of the six was being released on bail today.
