Is this what the senate has come down to? Saying "fuck you" when they can't come up with a decent counter-argument? shame on you, John Kerry.Kerry curses senator over Halliburton criticism

Kerry to Sen. Leahy: 'F**k You'... Nearly a dozen senators witnessed...
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Typically a break from partisan warfare, this year's Senate class photo turned smiles into snarls as presidential candidate John Kerry reportedly used profanity toward one senior Republican, sources said.
Sen. Patrick Leahy of Vermont, who was on the receiving end of Kerry's ire, confirmed that the Senator used profanity during Tuesday's class photo.
A spokesman for Kerry confirmed there was a "frank exchange of views."
Using profanity on the Senate floor while the Senate is session is against the rules. But the Senate was technically not in session at the time and the normal rules did not apply, a Senate official said.
The story, which was recounted by several sources, goes like this:
Responding to Kerry's comment, Leahy reminded him of an earlier statement the senator had made about him. Kerry then replied with profanity.
Leahy would not comment on the specifics of the story Thursday, but did confirm that Kerry used profanity.
"I think he was just having a bad day," said Leahy, "and I was kind of shocked to hear that kind of language on the floor."
Kevin Kellems, a spokesman for the senator, said, "That doesn't sound like the kind of language that the senator would use, but I can confirm that there was a frank exchange of views."

Seriously though, profanity when not in session is fine. These guys want Stern but all of the sudden hearing it from Cheney is just oh so offensive. /GASP
Umm why would the spokesman for the senator be talking about the language a vice president would use when it was about Leahy and Kerry?
This doesn't make any sense at all and feels faked. So little sense that I had to look it up, it was Cheney not Kerry who reportedly said this, what the hell?
Nice game of edits, Kyoukan.

OMG he swallowed the hook.
Kylere, you have just proven yourself higher on the evolutionary line than Midnyte, once again.

War is an option whose time has passed. Peace is the only option for the future. At present we occupy a treacherous no-man's-land between peace and war, a time of growing fear that our military might has expanded beyond our capacity to control it and our political differences widened beyond our ability to bridge them. . . .
Short of changing human nature, therefore, the only way to achieve a practical, livable peace in a world of competing nations is to take the profit out of war.

Hmm, I read that Cheney said it, not Kerry.

Umm geez can't you all tell that Kyoukan edited this, and intentionally did not include an actual link to make Midnyte look dumb?

incidentally, while i dont think this is a big deal at all, i think part of the reason that the Democrats are kind of laughing about all of this is because Kerry caught some criticism for using the word "fuck" in a magazine article earlier this year. was like Rolling Stone or Playboy interviewing him i think.
Lets not forget how he cussed out a secret service agent when he did not stop Kerry from falling down sking, or how he fliped off some war veterans at the vietnam memorial on Memorial day.
I asked a senate staffer how Kerry was in person a few days ago and the responce I got was "Nice guy but he tries too hard to be intellectual."
With this type of behavior Kerry will not win votes and seems to back up what the staffer told me.

Spock: Your use of language has altered since our arrival. It is currently laced with, shall we say, more colorful metaphors, "double dumb-ass on you" and so forth.
Kirk: Oh, you mean the profanity?
Spock: Yes.
Kirk: Well that's simply the way they talk here. Nobody pays any attention to you unless you swear every other word.
---------------
Kirk: Spock, where the hell's the power you promised?
Spock: One damn minute, Admiral.
