Cartalas needs to be banned from this forum.

I put forth that he has never once in this entire history contributed anything resembling an attempt at discussion or debate in this forum. All he does is troll, act stupid and bait people. He wrecks threads either subconsciously or on purpose because he knows that people are conversing on a level of intelligence he is incapable of and he is jealous of it.

I realize that this thread is just going to give him the satisfaction of getting the attention that he lacks in his personal life, but I don't really care. Something has to be done because this forum isn't good any longer. He has ruined it. I also realize that this was his goal at the outset, but it's really getting out of hand. Ignoring him doesn't work because you still have to read his filth when everyone quotes it. 50 people shouldn't be expected to ignore one person who is causing all the problems when that one person should just be removed entirely.

Secondly, I would just win the "challange" because my posts have merit. You've never once said anything of worth. This is mostly likely because you lack worth, but I don't really care why. If a dog bites someone, you don't question the dog's motives or mindset; you just kill the dog.

Third, the level of sexually violent insults and threats directed at me is starting to make me uncomfortable. I don't think you've once adressed me without either a reference to me being raped, molested, or mentioning my genitals. This is fine once in awhile but it's sort of getting creepy now. I would recommend that you talk to someone about your sexually deviant behaviour, but again, I don't really give two shits about you. I just hope that the criminal justice system gets a hold of you before you actually do it to a real person, if you haven't already.

There are several people on here with whom I disagree regarding a great many issues, and yet I would never want to bar them from posting. Difference opens up debate, brings in new and different ideas, and keeps the forum from just being a total echo chamber. Midnyte...Kylere...these people also have vastly different opinions than me, and sometimes they frustrate me (as I'm sure I do to some), but the fact is that whatever their opinions, and whatever differences I have with some of those opinions, they are valid contributors to the board and, as such, are welcome.

However, Cartalas does not espouse these differences in any sort of positive or constructive manner. Put bluntly, he is a troll. There are others here, too...of more left-leaning political inclination (to be fair)...who also use ad hominem, but at the very least, they have an understanding of issues behind the discussion, can effectively contribute...and usually have a little more wit to their flames than Cart. I'm not against ad hominem altogether--hell, this is *flamevault*, but Cart is a freaking troll.

I am not a fan of banning people for whatever they happen to say, no matter how stupid and poorly researched it is. There is a decided difference between Cartalas vs Midnytes and Winnows posts, however. At least Mid and Winnow will offer up an argument (moronic or not) occasionally backed by quotes and engage in some modest debate, however limited. Cart just lobs third grade jokes and says nothing about the topic in question beyond calling someone a non-sequitor for their opinion. It is deffinitely hurting the quality of the forum. I don't mind people who I feel are flawed or simply disagree with me posting crap that I feel to be blatant bullshit, causing an argument. Thats the point of the forum, and I look forward to that. Its the constant "me too" and "stupid cunt" troll posts that are bringing the quality of the forum down.

Cart wasn't always this bad, and I know from talking to him that he has at least a modicrum of intelligence when he is motivated to use it, but lately he has gotten to be worse than searyx. Its like Pilsburry and Searyx had a genetic love child or something. I don't like banning anyone, really, but spammy trolling bullshit is ruining an otherwise good forum. At least when Atokal or Kylere engage in personal insults it provokes some entertaining exchanges. Most other people keep their personal attacks relavant to the thread (ie calling someone out as a homophobe for disagreeing with gay rights, calling someone a leftist commy for calling Reagan evil), but Cart just says shit for no discernable reason beyond trolling.

Amen to that. Like... for instance, Atokal, I really dislike you but I'd never suggest nor support banning you from this forum. I find it difficult to understand how someone could have your beliefs and I think you're misguided almost all of the time, but I'm not trying to silence your voice. The same goes for about half of the other regular contributors of this forum.

I think that most of you who don't like kyoukan (or dregor or me or pope john paul ii) are letting your dislike for her cloud your judgement. A regular kyoukan response might contain a big flame, but look at like the thread about prisoners rights. She'll talk about why she thinks they should have rights, and then call you an uncle fucker. Cartalas will just chime in 5 times in a thread to say someone needs to get skullfucked, or that their dad fucked them too much when they were young, or some string of unintelligible gibberish.

That's the point. Every person on this thread is guilty of posting things that decrease the signal to noise ratio from time to time, and I don't think that any of them should be banned. Just the one person who has never posted anything of value, ever.

I had the exact same problem when I put someone on ignore (it was Kyoukan as a matter of fact), as long as other people quote the poster you don't want to hear from, you're stuck. So glad to see it annoyed you as much as it did me.

I'm fine for diversity. If you want me to be perfectly honest there are people on this forum I personally dislike more than Cartalas. For instance, I dislike Kylere more. I dislike you a lot more. I dislike Atokal to the point that he almost makes me physically ill that a human being so could be so completely devoid of anything resembling a redeeming value. I don't particularly dislike Adex but he infuriates me to the point where I want to pull my hair out.

Cartalas is beneath me to even harbor much of an emotion for other than annoyance. Most breeds of dogs are less obnoxious and better in a conversation. I don't want him removed because I hate him. I want him removed because he wrecks practically every single thread with his idiocy. It's beyond not being able to tolerate him. It's the fact that rational discussions can't be held around him because he chimes in every fucking thread with moronic babble and sexually offensive rhetoric.

The amount of shit that is thrown at me on a daily basis on this forum I'm surprised that someone even as obtuse as you would think that I'm being intolerant towards someone else. Every post I make, 10 people rush for the reply button so they can insult me about my height, my gender, my spouse and his skin color and my sex life and you think I'm being thin-skinned? Grow a fucking brain.

I don't know if I'd say that, entirely. Yes, the noise here is coming predominantly from the left. But I think it needs to be looked at more in terms of contribution rather than political stance.

You know for instance that you and I frequently sit on opposite sides of an issue. Sometimes we agree (or come to), but more often than not, we don't. Kyler is the same way...so are many other people on here. However, these are differences of opinion only. Hell, my own parents are *very* conservative. While I don't agree with you guys, I know you are good people that are trying your best to get by and live life as you see best. I would sit down and share a pint with most of you guys any day of the week. You contribute a different voice to the forum, and spark debate and conversation.

Cartalas does not. It's a very distinct difference that has little to do with politics, and everything to do with contribution.
