I think this is a fine example of a thread that should not be FF. Great Job Aslanna!

Ahh, but if you look closely, the very fine print clearly states that this is a *Flame Friendly* post.

Actually war is good for lots of stuff.
It in many cases better the echonomy (Germany at WW2 for example prospored at the start of the war, lots of countries made money making weapons).
It help keeping the worlds population down. Nothing like a good war to help on overpopulation. When no wars, nature gotta find other way to solve population problems (the Black Plague in europe for example).
It help technological progress (nothing like a good war or promise of one to help the funding for weapon based science, which can in many cases be used for non-war related uses too).
Lots of work for history teachers and biograpers later on.
Ego boosts to the winning contry/countries.

But the real question here is in my opining War, what is it BAD for? Thatll be MUCH bigger list, and a lot more relevant :)

Also provides a boom of children that - 20 or so years later - end up either enhancing the world economic system or draining it of all funds. :)

War is cool because shit gets blowed up good.

it's an answer, wouldn't call it great because you look at those reasons that are pro war incorrectly.
the reason the human race gets a lot of new ideas from weapons research etc is i think because of this.
those in charge have all the money, and when they feel like spending it for their own improvement (land/power/$ gain) us little folks tend to get a little more scraps from the table as the war takes place.

why in the world can't we spend those trillions and pudrillions to improve old and invent new things, instead of spending it on war every 20 years or so.
