Horizons Beta Coming Soon

Looks like Horizons beta will be coming soon. I am trying to copy a link for you, hope it works.

I have been involved with this project now 3 years and it's shaping up nicely. Game release on schedule for June 2003. Beginning to really look good. Check it out.

It looks very nice. I downloaded the video for it and the first thing that struck me was how there hasn't been a company yet that can create nice looking boobs. The females they show have HUGE Blocky boobs. Reminded me of DAOC.

Visually, it looks pretty nice but all three of these female characters have the exact same dimensions:

I hope their idea of adding another race isn't just sticking some horns on a human's head and painting them blue.

I will tell you this much, the engine was created by Artifact entertainment from the ground up. It far surpasses anything you have seen to date and will be liscensed and sold to other game makers and private enterprises.

I fully expect this engine to be implemented in many games in the future and most likely in places you would have never thought of. It is the best engine of its kind and unparalleled to date. This alone will make the game much more enjoyable.

Actually Winnow the player will be able to make the individual models differ using hundreds of animations open to character creation. So to address your concern, players of the same class will all vary due to personal design.

The textures on the models are good, just looks like the body shape on the females could use a little tuning. But who's to say it isn't like AO where you can choose body type? Did you ever see any screenshots from EQ from Beta 1? Talk about ass models.

If beta is just starting then are we looking at a release date of around September of next year? I hope to be hip deep in dead imperial storm troopers around that time.

The models don't look all that much better than EQ imho, but if the engine is capable of running smoothly with 50 people in the same place then kudos. Custom engines are a big deal...some run well (lithtech) and some don't (Verant).

Looking through the site again I have to ask, is there any story to this world or is it just going to be anarchistic? EQ had a story though not many knew or remember what it was. A good story will lend consistancy throughout the world in which they are building. Just a thought. Just because I didn't see it doesn't mean that it doesn't exist. I'd love to read the story behind the world.
