Fun on Playerauctions!

Post by Drolgin Steingrinder »

I can't help laugh at some people and how gullible they are.

Take this guy, for instance:
http://www.playerauctions.com/listings/ ... 1033572299
Does he *really* expect to get what he's asking?

Same could be said for these people ... although I have to admire their enterprise and originality - UberYou 2.0!

http://www.playerauctions.com/listings/ ... 1033466715

Last one ...

http://www.playerauctions.com/listings/ ... 1033582892

Anyone guess who this is? Another optimist, I guess ... 1k is a shitload of money...

Well , I wouldnt say people are gullible seeing there were no bids.

But I do agree with you on how stupid those people are into thinking we are that gullible.

Yeah that rogue is Taethan alright. As for the staff I saw some guy auctioning that thing for 250k for a few days in the bazaar. I don't think anyone'd be stupid enough to pay 700 bucks for something like that though

Quit enc and PLed rogue with the ever-determined goal of getting into foh with a few of his friends. No exp grouping usually results in not knowing many people...not to mention a 1 month trip to lvl 60. For the life of me I can't remember his enc's name.

Taethan = Originally Wood Elven Rogue.
I think he quit CT about 1 year ago or more.
He did most of his 40-50 in Rygorr fort duoing with a shaman 2 box.

All to all he was a pretty respectfull person.
And honestly, when you quit EQ with a character who has that much time and gear invested in it, why not get something back from all your hours spent.

As for 1000 bucks on a rogue, yea, that is asking for a LOT anytime you look at ebay pure meeles arent selling for shit, hybrids and casters run more heh.
Sad thing is though that some people will pay more then 1000 bucks, I know a guy IRL who sold his bard for 1200 USD No VT, or Ssra shit either.

Doesn't seem that much for the best rogue that's even been sold. And it's a pittance compared to the time we invested as a guild to get that fuck those items.

Fuck anyone who ebays. It's an insult to all their guildmembers. It's saying their collective friendship is worh < $1000. heh.

Thing is though Krae that majority of pickfucks who started playing EQ post Kunark and even moreso post Luclin think that the game is nothing more than Quake with swords and dragons. (Post-Kunark players who dont fuck sheep take no offense, thx)
As far as their concern goes their guild is just means to an end (Just as guild hopping with lewtz is to sooooo many shitheads on Veeshan my head spins). Once they're bored with any responsibilities they show their real faces and either bounce from your guild with hard earned loots, or just go Ebaying.

taethan was sniffing around our guild before luclin came out but for some reason nobody really wanted him in all that badly. I think he was friend of somebody though.

I don't see a problem with ebaying your account once you are done with them. wtf else are you going to do with it? let it rot as some kind of homage to your former guildmates?

I got more than 1k for mine tho, and kyoukan had 1000x worse gear than that.. This was before it was common knowledge that luclin was a fucking lost cause and EQ was on it's final gasp though. Oh wait a second, it's still not common knowledge that EQ is on it's final gasp!

Boy, that's one hell of a last gasp. SoL came out almost a year ago, and another expansion is due out on the 22nd. VI is also boasting the highest number of subscribers in the game's history. Final gasp? Yeah, whatever.

Translation of Kyoukan's post: FUCK!!! WHY DID I EBAY I STILL LIKE THE GAME I WANT TO PLAY BUT I EBAYED FUCK!!!

Why is it whenever one of the board hotheads quit the game, they feel the need to let everyone know that it's only because EQ is on it's last gasp?

Yeah, enjoy another poorly coded, unbalanced, buggy, badly textured, uninspired. amateurly designed insta-expansion full of worthless cave zones, samey models, crappily designed timesink "quests" and stupidly overpowered NPCs that take 70-100 of your worthlessly underpowered avatars 3 hours to get to and 1 hour to kill (8 hours to kill if you fuck up!)for 2 or 3 pieces of fake virtual loot 5% better than what you have already.

Kyoukan,

Just out of pure curiousity, what would you consider a well-balanced, inspired, well-textured, and relatively bug-free game?

MMOG preferably, but anything multiplayer is fine. This is more of a question for my benefit since I basically only play 3 games and EQ is one of them. Since I like EQ still, I'm wondering what the games out there are that you're playing which make it seem like such a heaping pile of shit.

Everquest, Everquest: The Ruins of Kunark and Everquest: The Scars of Velious.

Starsiege Tribes

Counterstrike (altho I hate it I have to give it props)

I've been hearing that Earth and Beyond is reasonably bug free and fun to play.

But really I don't have to compare EQ to anything but itself. It should be getting better, but it just gets progressively worse. They are making a lot of player requested balance and UI changes that are good, but the core of the game (zones, npc encounters, graphics, gameplay, storyline) is just pathetic.

E&B is a really good looking game, and yes is extremely bug free for all I could tell. Spent about a month beta'ing it and enjoyed it thoroughly at first, but honestly it got old towards the end of the third week or so. It's extremely redudant after the initial newness wears off.

If you are an absolute space FREAK you may be able to look beyond this and have fun, but to me it wasn't enough to stick with.

(I know a month in beta is a short time as the game will be patched a billion times and evolve like every other game, but those are initial observations)

Hrm, I was hoping for a few games that I've never heard of. I agree Luclin sucks, and if it wasn't laid out in a convienent way I wouldn't even know how to get from one side to the other.

Every counterstrike player I know just bitches about how thisandthat needs to get changed. Reminds me of the hardcore EQ crowd sort of.

Sajko we should play another old school starcraft game sometime ;).
(waiting for someone to chime in how they are the greatest SC player ever...that game evokes said response more than any other)

Wasnt Krytion and Axien guests about the same time, but Axien fed us some bullshit story thru Sirton, concerning Krytion?

Basically Axien kissing Sirtons ass when he was still GL of CT, and gave Krytion black label for joining future raids.

I remember Krytion was a good guy too bad we took Axien and not him.

Then where is Axien now? lol...
