I don't really know what's pathetic about it (besides the fact that you can customize it with NASCAR logos). We have a fridge in our basement, this doesn't seem a whole lot different.
It's not necessarly lazy to not want to walk to a different part of your house every time you need a beverage while watching a sporting event or shooting pool or hanging out with friends or whatever. It's smart.
That said, I'm pretty lazy.

Dude, you're not helping us out here. We're trying to get rid of the notion that only lazy people would get it. I think you're forgetting that the REAL reason you're getting it is because you can't bear to spend even 15 seconds away from your friends/family while you are hanging out during the game, and you also don't want to miss Brett Favre making a spectacular play. Nothing to do with laziness!Bubba Grizz wrote:I too am a lazy man and hate having to run upstairs to get a soda or beer.

I agree with Fair.
You would have to be a complete dumbass to buy this over a minifridge that you could decorate anyway you wanted to for less than one third the cost.

Ummm I'm getting better! Time is at a premium so I need the easy access to the fridge as to not interfere with life at any level. Yeah that's it.
Fair, while that fridge is hella cool, it lacks the Packer stuff and it wouldn't hold enough of the good stuff for my liking. Though the price is really nice.

I work at Home Depot. Everytime I pass by that damn skybox vending machine, I give it a little kick. They're incredibly annoying, cheap looking and just plain silly.
As a novelty for a kid's room... MAYBE... but really now... why on earth would you want one is beyond me.
They get a two thumbs up the ass on my gay-o-meter.

"the SkyBox holds 64 12-ounce cans, 32 12-ounce glass or plastic bottles or a combination of each, dispensed from four selection buttons."
Eh...my mini fridge is waist high...it holds almost as much.
I think I paid like $150 for it...
It came in handy for raids when I played EQ or parties after I quit.
Sure it's small capacity but how many cases can you fit in your fridge with actual food still in there? 2 maybe 3?
I could fit 2 more in the mini.
Actually I had 2 mini's...so I could put 2 cases downstairs, 2 in the garage(aka the smokers lounge), and 4 in the kitchen (on a good day). I gave the garage one to my dad when he put in his bar this winter tho.
I'd recommend a min-fridge or even a full size fridge over the skybox though. You can store salsa, etc in a fridge....maybe some drink mixes if you got a bar. Mini fridges don't hold glass bottles so well, but full size fridges do and don't require much more electricity (mini-fridges are very inefficent).
Skybox is not a cost effective solution...it's more of a novelty item...but there is no harm in that.
