Triplets of Belleville

Post by Tenuvil »

Rented this DVD last weekend and loved it. Lots of subtle (and not so subtle) jabs at both North American and European culture. The characters were surprisingly expressive for not saying much at all, especially Champion and Madame Souza.

I will be adding this to my collection.

I saw it in theatres, I was dragged to it, and I complained leaving it... I didn't expect it to be silent or the very little talking involved would be french since I barely knew the title of the movie when I got there... It was alright, but don't expect a typical cartoon, I thought it was boring in the whole beginning but the end picked up.

Yeah Hesten, it was released on DVD in the States last week. Unfortunately the version that we got doesn't have the original French dialogue (what little dialogue there is anyway hehe).

Bah, guess ill check for the euro version then. Call me wierd, but i prefer to watch movies in their original language, with subtitles, rather than having some stupid voiceover.

Thats not weird. In fact I think people who prefer dubbing are weird.

For Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon I can't imagine watching it with dubbed voices. For some anime series, I prefer dubbing if done well...for series such as FLCL and Cowboy Bebop I don't really feel like reading one line of text after another instead of enjoying the animation. That's for anime though and not all of it. For hentai, give me the original voices and no subtitles!
