Doom 3
I know the game isn't out yet but some folks may know the answer to this question. Can you play co-op through the game or are you limited to just deathmatch kind of stuff. Some of the most fun I have had in this type of game has been in Doom 2 when you could team up and fight the demons and stuff. I don't want just another Quake clone.
GP: Any Xbox specific features that we can expect to see? Any innovations that Vicarious has added to the project?
KB: Our biggest addition for the Xbox is the ability to play the single player game with a friend in co-op mode.
http://www.gamepro.com/microsoft/xbox/g ... 4068.shtmlWe work together to make sure that Doom 3 for the Xbox is perfectly suited for that platform, runs fast, and that the atmosphere and gameplay are terrifying and well balanced. We’re even including new features like co-op play, which require a tremendous amount of creativity and planning from everyone at VV and id.
Looks like it'll be XBox only.

Bullshit! You know for a fact that you and I are going to Co-OP this game like we did with Doom 2. Agreed on not the Xbox version.Deward wrote:By the time this game gets released it will be out of date. I have been waiting years for it and frankly and kind of sick of waiting. Now I really care less if it is released or not. I certainly won't buy an Xbox version of it though.
I played this game 6 months ago. It's fun if you like really creepy environments.Bubba Grizz wrote:Bullshit! You know for a fact that you and I are going to Co-OP this game like we did with Doom 2. How, exactly, will it be out of date when most game manufacturer's are still licensing the Quake3 or Unreal2 engines to power their games? The only possible game with a technological advantage in the forseeable future is Half-Life 2 - and it's been pushed back to a release date almost four months after that of Doom 3. The only manufacturer's writing their own engines are Epic, Valve, and iD. Unreal's new engine is slated for ~2006 and Valve seems to be looking 2005ish, if they license their engine at all - there's no indication they will on their website.Deward wrote:By the time this game gets released it will be out of date. Personally, I find it laughable to suggest that anything produced by iD could be technologically inferior. Clearly you don't respect Carmack's genius.
