Actually I thought all the guys were terrible. They all seem like they are talking to you. Keep the black chics, send the rest home, at least I can listen to them and not want to rip my ears off. Jasmine is pretty decent sometimes, but not consistant enough at this point. Diana sucks. I forget if there's anyone I'm missing. In all, I guess I shouldn't be too harsh, I mean how many pop singers actually sing in front of live audiences now instead of having playback of recorded stuff.

Impressive night, I can understand why the judges were moved. I'd toss George into their 2 person mix but I think they emphacised Latoya and Fantasia because they are guaranteed to sell gold and they need to push them further and further for free promotion. Cynicism aside, they deserve it

I like them all with the exception of that Diana duJumbo. Granted she isn't incredibly huge but she wears clothing that is not flattering to her size at all. That dress Simon gave a 0 was for good reason. I could barely watch her perform because it was so wrong. I personally believe that if you have a huge belly you should not be wearing half shirts or seethru half shirts. I would love to see her go tonight but I am guessing that it will be Jasmine.

Poor George. My wife voted a whole bunch of times for him but obviously it was not enough.

Bubba, my wife is still crying about George as well, but I agree that he had to go (since I'm stuck watching the show). He had a great personality, but his singing was terribly monotone.

I still feel sorry for the the red-head dude that was a crooner that was forced to sing Miami Sound Machine songs (wtf? who thinks up these themes?). I knew he was toast before he sang a note.

I also agree about Diana. When she came bouncing out singing in that half see-through shirt I just started saying "NO! GOD NO! WRONG!" and holding my hand up to block the offending view.

Fantasia and Latoya are the only really talented ones and they both get on my nerves personally, so I don't really care who wins.

People may not like Simon, but I think he's the only "judge" that actually gets it and I find myself agreeing with him most of the time. Paula acts like a supportive big sister to all the singers and I think Randy is an idiot.

I hate the show's format. I think if they are vying to be "idols" they should be singing whatever songs they want or can get thier hands on including originals, otherwise it's just a live kereoke contest with a small jukebox.

I don't think we will be watching the show anymore. At least not with the dedication we once had. The 2 best singers end up in the bottom 2 and they boot out Latoya? Something is definitly wrong with that picture. I thought my wife was going to cry last night.

Holy shallow bastards. I don't watch the show, but I've seen the Diana girl you're talking about. Fat? Christ, your wives must be anorexic supermodels (I know, that's redundant). I won't comment on her singing ability, because I have no idea if she has any! But I was surprised to see her still around the way I'd heard friends panning her.

No no, I have no problems with her being fat. It is the clothing she wears that accents the fact in a disgusting way that is the problem. It would be like Oprah wearing Spandex shorts and a mesh half shirt. Some things just don't belong. The girl has pipes and is a semi ok performer but some of her wardrobe choices made it nearly impossible to watch her. Almost as if I were embarrassed for her.

I think diana will be the winner over all, she has the best voice out of all of them, Latoya got axed because of her attitude, she got very cocky over the past few weeks.

Diana did the best of them all in Disco theme and like Simon predicted she may break the duo that most people would like to see win this season.

At this stage or maybe even as of one week ago, they are all winners and will all score a record deal, million schmillion, money's nice but good writers and music is all that matters for them after the show ends.

I can't believe Fantasia and La Toya were dead last. They are the best of the bunch talent wise.

But really. It's not a talent show. It's a popularity contest. They have the wrong spin. They make it out to be a talent show, but then they would need like three Simon-esque judges to decide the winner, not every person with a phone - 90% of them decide who they are voting for before the person even performs.

I dislike this show just on the principle that it takes more to be a successful musician/artist than being able to sing.

I also dislike how they force the contestants to sing certain styles that may or may not benefit their voice.

For example, John Stevens singing Miami Sound Machine songs is just fucked up. Let the boy sing what he wants.

Fantasia got robbed, there's no way she should have been kicked off. The Hawaiin girl performed horribly the night before, and apparently everyone in Hawaii does have five phones, as Simon suggested!

I think that is why Jasmine is still in it. America voted for her out of spite for Simon.

Fantasia's still around...it was La Toya that was booted.

Regardless, out of the final four it was clear that Jasmine should have been booted, but oh well. It isn't the first time the vote will go wrong, and it isn't the last either.

I thought Jasmine shoulda got the boot as well. However, I thought based on past performances, Diana fucking sucked too.

I think the person most amazed that Jasmine wasn't given the boot was Jasmine.

I swear, she looked as if she was guilty of a crime and she knew someone was going to call her on it. I think she knew that she sucked and that it was wrong to let her stay at someone else' expense. Her look was like "Oh my god, this is horribly wrong!"

P.S. OK, I think Jasmine can sing.. loudly. But when she's not nailing a high note, she's terribly flat. I'll bet she could pwn the US National Anthem.

You know what I don't get? At least two people have been kicked off of American Idol in the past, one for having nude pictures of herself surface and the other for something I can't remember (police record involving stealing? maybe someone can help me out there).

From what I hear, Fantasia is a high school dropout and has a kid without being married. Now don't get me wrong, I don't find anything wrong with having a child out of "wedlock" (other than thinking it's a bad idea for young people to have kids before they are ready to take care of them. read: LEAVING THE KID FOR MONTHS WHILE YOU COMPETE ON A TELEVISION SHOW) nor with having nude photographs of yourself taken, but if they are trying to force the American Idol to be some sort of a role model, I don't think they should allow high school dropouts to be in the competition.

The bottom line is that I think they are being hypocrites. If they are going to enforce some sort of morality or weed out bad influences or whatever it is they are trying to do, they should do it evenly across the board.

It only really depends what they have communicated to the contestants at the time they agree to enter the contest.

Nude photos or police records can tarnish the show's or contestant's image more than someone who had to drop out of high school to take care of a baby, so they may have mentioned something explicit to that effect in the contract/application they no doubt had to sign to enter due to the other stuff they do (like Ford commercials...)
I don't think they should allow high school dropouts to be in the competition.
Also, some of these kids are still IN high scool. If they get a recording contract, who's to say they won't drop out? Not to mention they have to make special arrangements for class while doing all this other crap for the show.

I agree that it's not the greatest thing that Fantasia had to farm her child care out to participate in this, but from the looks of things, the child will greatly benefit (financially) from his mother's participation in the contest.

Don't get me wrong, I'm just arguing for argument's sake and I hate that show. =P I mostly just disagree with them kicking someone else off for having nude photos taken years ago than anything, I don't really think that they should kick Fantasia off the show.

Sorry, I'm bored today.

I don't watch this...but the girls at work ran me out of the break room and turned off my baseball game in the 8th inning to watch this.

and that's how it relates to this thread.

I think it was Corey Clark who got booted for beating his sister and not showing up for a court date. The sister should have pressed charges after the kid got a contract. He was really good too. A new Smokey Robinson kind of voice.

It's hard enough trying to find people who can sing without forcing them to be wholesome and pure. As anyone knows, the music business isn't exactly pure. Just look at Aguilara.

All the people that were kicked off were kicked off because they didn't disclose the arrests, or nude photos, or whatever. Fantasia told them up front about it all.
