Farmed fish = Wild fish?
Farmed fish = Wild fish?
Yeah yeah...not a very catchy title.

Anyone else see something wrong with this? I thought there were actually huge problems if farm raised fish escaped into the wild. They carried more diseases and stuff that wild fish didn't deal with very well.
What's next..."Hey...I hear they've got some Manatee's in the zoo now...that means we should be able to go ahead and kill the ones in the wild"

As far as what's wrong with this, we can start with this...
Some Dipshit Lobbyist wrote:"I applaud the people that are trying to save species that are endangered," said Gretchen Borck, a lobbyist with the Washington Association of Wheat Growers. "But it might be good that we don't have dinosaurs now. We've gotten oil from the dinosaurs. If we had preserved the dinosaur, we wouldn't have that oil."
wow an article about how the bush administration is basically for sale to anyone with enough money to buy legislation from them. what else is new?
the fishing industry lobbies in the US are responsible for almost completely wiping salmon from the face of the earth to begin with. stocks would actually be back up by now if they would have just followed the fucking recommendations and killed the industry like canada did.

i eat salmon, and i would happily pay more per pound for salmon to make sure that the companies and fishermen that depend on fishing for their livlihood could still provide for their families, but at the same time responsibly maintain fish populations.
Quality salmon is like $8 a pound here in Atlanta. I'd pay up to double that without hesitation if it meant that the United States would treat the resource responsibly. It is such a foolish business strategy to overfish. hello...where is your industry going to be in 40 years?
