Negative. Last night was our turn in the rotation. They were in Time the night before. From the little I've heard as to why they imploded, some of the loot decisions on their last Time raid seemed to trigger the collapse.Pherr the Dorf wrote:They raided time last night...

I'd put my money on just another guild being formedKasaz wrote:Amazing, that a guild which seemed so strong and mature can crumble down so fast. Fiends was made fast, progressed fast, so it fits it to disband fast. There is now a lot of skilled players on the market for a new guild though.

There really is no major drama as to why the guild was disbanded. It was simply time for the end. For the most part it was the difference in players, some wanting to progress through GoD and some only wanting to reallly log on for Time raids.
As for the skimming of plat... Suppin grow some balls please and post who you are. To the matter at hand though, I was discussing this with a friend the other night and there really was no good way to disperse the over abundance of platinum. If you tried to give it out to the player base at the raid or if you tried to buy upgrades for some players or something along that line. The only thing that would arise would be more conflict of people not feeling that they are getting what they deserved. Johnny got a new earring and I didn't <FAVOREETISM> BS. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if this happens to a lot of the plat that major guilds recieved in eles.

Thinking of something new!
Another rumor I heard...
Innoruuk dropped the Rare dagger Jagged Timeforged Blade
http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=22530
The dagger was awarded to an ALT.
The alt was an alt of an officer.
The officer is the GF of the GL.
http://www.fiendsguild.org/forums/showthread.php?t=3531
I also heard about the plat issue that Suppin brought up. But there has to be more to this story, doesn't there?

Like Tinkin said, when half of a guild wants to end EQ at PoTime and the other half wants to continue in GoD, things just don't work. We came, we killed, GoD sucked, we left.
As for the loot. Fiends was a pure dkp guild. Alts that are consistantly two-boxed earn dkp just like a main, in order for an alt to get an item over a main the alt would be required to have a certain amount of dkp more than the given main. Being an officer or someone's girlfriend takes no effect in a strict dkp system. You get what you earn, and Needol had the dkp. Thus, she received the item.
/shrug. Fiends' goal was to blow through the tiers of progression and kill Quarm. We did that. No regrets here.

Happy Trails to the latest incarnation of Bandits. I am sure there were a lot of things that lead to this, but usually when tension is high all it takes is one thing to cause people to flip out (ie Inno dagger to GL gf alt over someones main, no matter how justifies is always going to cause an uproar), but the PA thing (if true) is pretty severe. Let the feeding frenzy of other uber guilds who suffered gross attrition to Time Boredom begin! I predict, eventually, Veeshan will be down to one Uberguild made up of people from 20 some former time guilds that imploded.
War is an option whose time has passed. Peace is the only option for the future. At present we occupy a treacherous no-man's-land between peace and war, a time of growing fear that our military might has expanded beyond our capacity to control it and our political differences widened beyond our ability to bridge them. . . .
Short of changing human nature, therefore, the only way to achieve a practical, livable peace in a world of competing nations is to take the profit out of war.
--RICHARD M. NIXON, "REAL PEACE" (1983)
"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired, represents, in the final analysis, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children."

Guild breaking up had little, to nothing, to do with Vannor skimming plat. If no one has filled in the public by the time I finish raiding tonight, I will make a post filled with all the juicy details. It was mostly a very mature and controlled ending to a great (IMO) guild. Fiends has almost always been a run away train trying to progress before we were ready.

Rumor on the street is that Vannor and the other Fiends guild officers gave their entire guild a serious ass fucking by giving all the drops from their last time raid to officers only and the officers personal friends (i.e. Vannors girlfriends alt got a time blade).
To make this more interesting Vannor has been selling items in game for the last year or so. Most, if not all of the guild officers were in on it.
Kinda sad but then again what do you expect from a bunch of children.
Oh well, easy come, easy go.

That's so 8 months ago mang.jabisher wrote:A lot of things contributed to the downfall of fiends, but perhaps the straw that broke the camels back was when they found out their guild leader was skimming plat off the guild banker to sell on PA so he could afford his bills, instead of getting a job like the rest of us.

On the contrary my friend, 9 out of 40 items were received by officers that night. Please, do correct me if I'm wrong here, but 9 is nowhere near to "all" of 40. It's not even one fourth.Resurrector wrote:Rumor on the street is that Vannor and the other Fiends guild officers gave their entire guild a serious ass fucking by giving all the drops from their last time raid to officers only and the officers personal friends (i.e. Vannors girlfriends alt got a time blade).

Secondly, in case you didn't read all the posts on the thread, Fiends had a 100 percent strict dkp system. The character with the most dkp that asks for an item gets the item. The only variation is the margin of dkp that alts are required to have to receive an item over a main character, which Needol had.
I'm glad you like making rumor based accusations with absolutely no backing, but it's really not getting a point across.
Kinda sad, not what you expect from someone I've known to be a mature person.
