As for the question I provided you with. The american public typically favor isolationism, and prefer to think that our government/military act as a stabilizing force within the world. I happen to concur.

We didn't get to the point we are at because of either party. We are at this point because of both parties. Neither Republicans or Democrats have any idea what the common person thinks anymore and are so caught up in their own self-importance that they don't care. So long as they keep getting their raises at taxpayer expense and continue to exclude third parties from even having a chance then nothing is going to change. Until we get some kind of universal campaign finance reform and term limits then we will continue to be slaves to these fucktards who claim to represent us while they hold their pockets open for more special interest money.

Here in Wisconsin, like most other states, only 46% of the people voted in the last election. That is 54% of the people that are unhappy or disenfranchised at how our political system works. If you want to make a change then vote for a third party like Libertarians or Green. They may not win but if they get 20-30k votes in an election then the big parties do notice and wonder what they need to do to get those votes back. If you are a student, then god damn it get out and vote. Most politicians ignore the student vote. We only had like 20% of 150,000 students vote here. Jesse Ventura credits his Minnesota win on getting the students to come out and vote for him. Ed Thompson is doing the same thing in WI and doing fairly well so far for a libertarian. Some polls have him at 20%+. In comparison, Ventura won Minnesota with only 37% of the vote.

Just my 2 libertarian cents worth.

Don't defend yourself when you know damn well that yes, most companies don't pay their employees to be looking at porn while on the clock. Text is one thing since unless the text is huge and in vibrant color or someone is standing 2 feet from you, they can't read a thing on your screen. I completely agree with Deward here...

I live in South Dakota, and from listening to the AM talk shows (yes, I am a talk radio junkie) if is quite evident by the many polls being conducted by the various newpapers, radio stations and television stations that almost 75% of the state is embarassed by Daschles behavior.

My mom and dad (HARD CORE democrat school teachers) campaigned for Tom Daschle ever since the 70's when he was making his first attempt at public office. That short little bastard used to come to our house whenever he was going thru our town on his way to/from his home in Aberdeen. I know for a fact he stopped at my house at least a dozen times when I was home - many others when I was not. Once he made it to Washington, he never came back. That shows tremendous loyalty to his supporters hehe.

His "big thing" was to babble and babble about how America should be and how he was THE MAN that a) could lead us there. b) that would NEVER forget his roots... blah blah blah... the only thing on that mans mind now is how he can get the Democratic nomination for the 2004 presidential election.

Typical of pretty much all career politicians, he has brought great shame to the very people that keep sending his ass back to Washington.

The poll results that I have seen over the past 2 years clearly indicate that he is finished. He has alienated and disregarded the people of South Dakota too many times.

My personal prediction: November 2004, Tom Daschle is going to be a normal civilian with an extraordinary PHAT LEWTZ pension kickin around making a public spectacle of himself like Clinton and AlGore are both currently doing. /giggle

Our Governor (Bill Janklow) is running for Congress. When (not if) he is elected, watch CSPAN ratings go thru the roof -- this is a very entertaining and animated speaker.

One last thing... I was told in Jr. High back in the 70's that the reason that states elect so many Democrats for national office and so many Republicans for state office is this... citizens want people in Washington that will vote for massive gov't spending to bring home the BACON! /ran for the L33T LEWTZ and bring them home to the states... then have the tightass republicans back at home to reasonably and cautiously distribute the goodies around the state to the various groups and agencies that depend on state funding to operate. ? I guess that makes sense.

I agree with what you (Ahmik) said about the pensions as well. Does anyone else think that it is total hogwash to give politicians a pension? That just encourages them to make that their job for their whole life. What a load of shit and us common guys (and gals) are the ones that get ass-raped every payday.

Another interesting little story of some of the political BS going on here in Wisconsin. We got a nice little $6 billion payout from the smoking companies in one of those big settlements. It was supposed to be saved to pay for medical care and education and earn us $165 million dollars a year in interest to do so. Our Republicrats wasted the entire $6 Billion in 2 years because they didn't want to cut anything when the market took a nose dive. Career politicians only care about their careers and won't say anything that might affect those fat pensions they are working towards. I could pharm stars all day with all this sort of shit that is going on just in WI.

Once again I encourage you young people (anyone under 30) to go out and vote, preferably for a third party.
