Having high standards is good for food, and your daughter's boyfriend.

Low standards are good for humor.

"I didn't laugh at that."

He is a moron, but that was pretty funny. Completely untrue though.

Hypocritical as fuck. O'Reilly likes to hide behind the guise of a populist libertarian, but he is more conservative than Rush on most stances. The O'Reilly factor is probably the #1 offender for pure noise as well. O'Reilly doesn't even debate his guests 99% of the time; he just shouts them down with his own viewpoints because at the Bill O'Reilly show, Bill O'Reilly is the star and the guests are just props to give him an excuse to talk. Just about the only person I'd rather not listen to over O'Reilly is Anne Coulter, who is just certifiably insane and obnoxious to the point that she isn't even fun to make fun of.

I'd also wager that there's more classic rock and country on music stations than hardcore rap.

there are way more country and rock stations than hip-hop.

G. Gordon Liddy was mocking Bill O'Reilly earlier this week. I heard an interview where Liddy was saying the reason O'Reilly's radio show is doing poorly in ratings is that "the most intelligent observation he makes is 'Shutup!'". (paraphrasing).

i laughed.....not at the article.

now that i think about it, this article is probably O'Reilly 'spinning' the bad press he has gotten from Drudge and others in the last week or two about his radio ratings sucking. So i guess his reaction is to trash the medium at large, hehe

No spin that.

in fact that is exactly what he is doing
"Think? Isn't this talk radio?"
hehe that is his closing. i think i'm right! :p

Bill a libertarian? lmao now thats a good one

The asshole opposes any sort of social freedom whenever a discussion is brought up on his show, and if i can recall he has "dissed" libertarian guests on his show pretty badly.

If you guys don't realize by now that O'Reilly is stand up comedy, then the joke is on you. I want an O'Reilly and Genine Garofalo doll that I can pull the string, hear her blasting his points, then hear SHUT UP!

O'Reilly talks a lot of common sense. Says some stupid stuff also, but mostly a lot of common sense. I can see how people would not like him on these boards.

I like Bill O'Reilly a lot. I think the biggest reason I try and catch his radio show is that I do indeed disagree with 90% of what his opinion is, but it helps me see the other side.

I don't think he shouts his callers down as much as people think, though. The ones he is constantly shouting down are the ones that call his show, say "Bill, you're so wrong!" and can't back it up with more than that.

The people who do call up, make a compelling argument against Bill's opinion, and can convey it well, usually end up with some praise from Bill, and a free book! I mean, a free book, signed no less, by Bill himself! What a gift for someone who disagrees with Bill, an entire book to disagree with :)

Well I disagree. I watch his show almost daily and he is quick to start shouting with people that even have good arguments. Heaven forbid you start making him look silly. If you are saying otherwise then you obviously don't watch his show. I have never listened to his radio show though, but I imagine he does not stray very far from his comfort zone on the factor.

I've never seen the TV show....I don't watch much television. Radio at work is another story.

From the way people describe his TV show, i would say yes, indeed his radio show is different. If someone has a good point that counters his, O'Reilly does not just start saying shut up. He tries, and oft times fails, to rebute them, and will admit it sometimes.

Like I said, I am not an O'Reilly assclown. I just like hearing the other side sometimes.

his TV ratings are incredible, so he shouldn't change a thing from that perspective.

It's even funnier watching him guest star on another show, then start shouting SHUT UP, and the other person is like "Bill, this is not your show, you can't make me shut up or turn off my mic."
