What game(s) is taking up your time now?

No holds barred discussion. Someone train you and steal your rare spawn? Let everyone know all about it! (Not for the faint of heart!)

What game(s) is taking up your time now?

Post by Xanupox »

Whats everyone playing/been playing lately?

I've picked up Battlefield Vietnam, but just something about it is lacking. My guild was very competitive in Desert Combat but since we moved to Vietnam, a lot of people have lost the desire to play. Anyone else find that stigma with this game?

Other than BFV I'm messing around with Lineage II, but the gameworld seems too distant and disconnected from your character, doubt I really put much time into that in the future.

Still have to finish Knight of the Old Republic, and I have an unopened "Lords of Everquest" RTS game, pondering on actually opening it up or taking it back to Best Buy.

So... what about you guys? Found anything good with some substance? Replayability or online play?

Yeah, well after the 14 hour days at the base, fighting GWB's War on Terror I dont mind finding a good computer game to get my mind away from the great " real life " as its called.

Anyway, lets keep this on the topic of ... games.

Yeah, DC is a great mod but its hard to go backwards in regards to the game engine and play it. I dunno, maybe I'll pick it up again the maps were getting old though, seems like a majority of the servers only cycle 3-4 of the same maps lately.

Maybe DC will port over to the BFV engine, doubt it but at least it would be a breath of fresh air into the mod.

If we are keeping it on topic of Games, then this belongs in the video games forum. I am still playing Frozen throne. Also picked up UT2k4 and my son and I have been enjoying it. I was holding BFV and UT2k4 and decided against BFV, seems more of the same. I really don't like it that they dumbed down chopper controls. I won't be getting it.

I played the beta of UT2K4 but found it to be too Zippy Fast. When a game is that fast, it takes the players skill out of the game. It comes down to just who sees who first, and the latter guy getting fragged.

If the game was tuned just a little less speedy, and the characters durability increased just a tad it maybe worth it for me... as it is in the current form is just a pickup frag fest game.

Take it back, not enough skill involved. It amazes me how shitty the RTS genre can be sometimes. Plus it looks really, really bad in my opinion, need TA 2 and Starcraft 2 :(

Playing WC3, still, haven't really put it down for 2 years. Most of my game time is there, though, I did pick up D2 for the 1.10 patch for about 4 months - but I play that game once a year for a stint anyways. Played Doom 2 multiplayer for a while, that shit is fun and nostalgic.

Played through Baldur's Gate 2 and Freespace 2 again when people weren't around for Warcraft, never got around to doing Kotor as dark side. Finish that though, not sure how far you are but it's good all the way through.

Warcraft 3, mostly DotA but I've started to play some of the regular game(tft of course.) I'm trying to play baldur's gate 2 but it's boring as fuck and the UI is shitty. Also, the story seems kind of lame. (hi let)

Also been getting into some GBA games recently, which are fun. Just wish I owned a GBA so I could play them as real portables. =p

You simple minded prick, it's too bad I can't flame you because I'm your friend and all. Hopefully one of the brighter people on this board can come in and set you straight, I know a few of you have played (and loved) bg2.

Medevial Total War,

I can play it in 10 minute spurts between my other responsiblities.

Love that game. Get the Norse expansion. I think the Rome expansion is either out or will be soon.

Playing another franchise season on Madden 2004 and when I can I am doing Co-Op multiplayer missions on Mechwarrior Mercenaries with a few friends.

Just replayed Final Fantasy Tactics, man is that a great game. I am currently working on its predescessor, Tactics Ogre. When I am not doing that, I have been working on my NWN module trilogy. Somehow, building modules is a lot more satisfying than I can remember EQ being.
War is an option whose time has passed. Peace is the only option for the future. At present we occupy a treacherous no-man's-land between peace and war, a time of growing fear that our military might has expanded beyond our capacity to control it and our political differences widened beyond our ability to bridge them. . . .

Short of changing human nature, therefore, the only way to achieve a practical, livable peace in a world of competing nations is to take the profit out of war.
--RICHARD M. NIXON, "REAL PEACE" (1983)

"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired, represents, in the final analysis, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children."

Alternates for me...but I mostly just play Diablo 2 and the odd gamecube game. It's all I ever seem to do is play games since I don't get off work till 2:00 am and start at 5:00 pm every day.

Edit: Baldur's gate 1 & 2 are the best RPGs I've ever played with the greatest story I've seen in a game besides the entire Legacy of Kain series.

Life :( I know I know
We did get a couple new toys though. I wouldnt realy call them Games , but fun as hell.

The one for the Kids

And for the BIG kids :)

http://www.teamdazon.com/raider150double.asp

Of course for these we had to get a trailer too, So I wen with a 7'12 single axle. The first thing I did was get it home , take the axle off and put it under the leaf's (netted about a 4 inch lift. Changed the tires to match the Jeep now the trailer is sporting 30x9.5 mud terrains. I'll get some pics this summer of the Jeep w/trailer and toys on it. It actually looks really sharp together. Jeep is Black , trailer is Silver. The Raider Nation lives ~lol~

Oh yeah, and I know Bubba loves this one too. I just played a round last night. Ive been looking for a great MOD for it though, I went to the totalwar.org and looked but they just show downloads no real descriptions about the mods.

Im looking for something that stays to the original game, but expands on it as much as possible. Also something to remove the year end limit would be nice as well. The only mod I used so far was Thorbecks, but it seemed like it made the game too easy. I was thinking of downloading Medmod 1.85 but I read it crashed a lot on some installs.

I didnt pickup the Viking Invasion pack, anyone have that? Is it worth it? Does it just give you the option of playing on a new map with new clans, or does it add to the original map as well?

The Norse expansion allows you to play in just Britain. You can play as the Irish, Scots, Picts, Welsh and so on. The object is to take over Britain all the while dealing with the Viking Invasion. I don't remember if you can play the vikings or not. It gets into more detail about your generals and their good traits and bad, like, if they are Fearless in battle or they are a Drunken Adulteror. Very cool regardless. Damn now I want to play again.

I've played all of these recently rated 1-10...10 being the best in my opinion.

EQ: 9 enjoy the guild and friends can't be beat overall and spend 90 percent of my game time on this one.

Dungeon Siege: 6 not that bad...fun at first board of it now its just to similar to better games like NWN and BG.

NWN: 8 all expansions...I love these games about tied with BG.

BG: 8 same as NWN

Americas Armys: 6 was a ton of fun at first, but got tired of the same maps.

Gothic II: 7 Very fun but to easy to beat.

Battlefield 1942: 8 I love this one and many of maps...I love the ability to drive diff types of tanks planes ships ect ect....I kick ass at this one so maybe abit more fun for me...ya die many times at first...I spend about 5 percent of my game time on this one.

Call of Duty: 7 I loved this one but tired of the maps....similar to allied assaults, but is better.

Divine Divinity: 7 I really enjoyed this game....Maybe because I LOVE SLAUGHTERING ORCS...which you geto do quite abit in this one....its similar to NWN or BG but abit more kill kill less strategy.

Civilization: 4 lame

Blitzkreig: 6 was fun at first easy to beat.

Hearts of Iron: 9 Great strategy game....if you enjoy this type of game at all Id recommend it....Is very challenging aswell..usually on these type of games Ill win it then never play again this one Ive kept on playing as diff countrys with diff strats.

President Forever: 3..fun beating kerry about it.

Temple of Elemental evil: 5 just ok.

Commandos 3: 2 hmm fun first mission then just sucks..gets boring.

Haven't played many games lately, but I've been playing Wizardry 8 some. I was looking for a game that was single player that I could get on and off when I felt like and could basically just take up some time- it was perfect.

It's a pretty fun game, although the world isn't that big and the battles are way too long.

I beat it with a full party and now I'm trying to play is as a solo faerie ninja (for anyone who's played it before). This definently is a challenge...I have to save/reload on easily a third of the battles, even the most mundane ones.

Been messing around with a game called Singles. It's a lot like Sims, except instead of being able to have a pet cat or buy a disco ball for your closet you can make two girls dyke out!

Well, in theory you can anyway. I haven't played much so far but I can get my couple naked and in the bedroom. However, all it will let me do thus far is have them stand next to the bed, chat, gossip and tell jokes.

Cast clay golem ON HIM and then decrepify, before he gets any AEs off. The dual slow effect of clay and decrep keeps him locked, he rarely finishes any casting animations and thus nevers wipes out your skels. I'm assuming you're a skellimancer though. This works on Baal too (it's even better on him). And you just wait.. never let decrep drop =p
