Guessing this wont be the 'original' Star Wars?

$42 isn't a bad price though. $14 each!

Yes, it is the 'original' Star Wars! They are finally releasing them on DVD.

No Fred, 'original' as in the version of Star Wars:A New Hope where Greedo doesn't shoot first and other editorial abominations.

I always find it hilarious when ppl complain about greedo shooting first. As if it had made the Han character less of a mercenary.

If it was the unedited versions, I'd buy it.. since it's not, I won't.

It's not a matter of how important the changes are, it's a matter of messing with something that's considered a classic. Same thing with ET where the took the guns out of the actors hands and replaced them with walkie talkies.. C'mon.. give me a break. Release a special edition with the changes if wanted, but also leave the classic version available.

Outside of that, its the stupidist thing I have seen, c'mon Han can move his neck in ways no one else can so he can dodge a blaster? There really was no reason to put it in.

i thought the graphics changes in IV and V were pretty cool (windows in Bespin for example).

the band addition in Jedi sucked too.

I think the fact that Lucas felt the need to go back and "tone" it down or whatever shows how much it did actually speak of Han's character. Also, it just looked fucking wrong. I'll always be a fan of the new scenes tho because it brought Boba Fett into New Hope.

Now I need to go look at some womenz to counter this surge in geekiness (I hope Shaerra doesn't see this, omgomg!)

I've had the Special Edition original trilogy on DVD for over a year now. Much <3 for Hong Kong DVD sellers...

Not everyone.. I definitely won't buy em'. Never even bought the VHS ones. Course, might copy them. Gotta keep that guy that comes on before all the theater movies employed with something to talk about after all..

I'm still ashamed to say I own Episode I & II on dvd. Blech.
