Jersey Girl

Post by Animalor »

Just got back from one of those parent w/babies screening of Jersey Girl.

I'm a Kevin Smith fan.

While this movie isn't as edgy or provocative as his other work and the story somewhat familiar, the Kevin Smith humor is still somewhat present in a mellowed sense.

As a new parent, this movie really appealed to me and my wife and we really enjoyed it.

I heartily recommend it to anyone.

i'm a kevin smith fan too, and i loved it. i cried a lot.

a lot of the humor/dialogue still had the kevin smith feel to it while the storyline really didn't but was still a really great movie. even with ben affleck. even with jennifer lopez.

Just saw it. And the best part is that they kill Jennifer off early (I don't think that's a spoiler since it's in all the reviews) so if you're worried about a Gigli kinda movie, this isn't it.

I'm not a big Liv Tyler fan but I thought she was great in this role. So far she's the only one from Lord of the Rings that didn't make me think of Lord of the Rings when I was watching a different movie with one of them in it. (Except for Hugo Weaving but that's only because I think of The Matrix when I see him)

Will give it an 8.

Underrated movie... Unfortunately, this good movie suffered backlash from the disaster that was Gigli.

I really liked it, and I was glad to see Kevin Smith expanding his directing horizons. He is the only living man that can direct Affleck.
Oh, my God; I care so little, I almost passed out.

Just watched it an liked it a lot.. especially after JLo was gone.

What annoyed me however was Liv's voice. I don't know why. It's just annoying in this movie. It took me awhile to get used to it and stop thinking about it. Also, she looks pretty rough in this movie (face wise), but still a hawtie.

I'd probably give it a 7. Definitely good work by Ben and G.Carlin though. And I was surprised to see Mr. Smith in it. (In a good way)
