You are different? Here's a Nickname for you!

No holds barred discussion. Someone train you and steal your rare spawn? Let everyone know all about it! (Not for the faint of heart!)

You are different? Here's a Nickname for you!

Post by Dups. »

Giving people that are different then yourself and your group of friends a nickname. It's as consistent as gravity! It started when you were young and it seems to go on for ever!

Just curious to see what sort of nicknames have been given to others by you or your friends along the way.

Highschool:

We had a guy with a lot of dandruff. Hence, we called him Flaky.

We had a guy with the last name of Babcock. It had the word cock in his last name. Being in highschool.... that my friends... is teh funny! We called him Bab or Cock.

We had this outcast girl that had the initial N.O for her name. She wrote it on her eraser. One day a friend of mine asked to borrow her eraser that had her initials on it. She misheard him and took her eraser and placed it on the other side of her desk. So we called her Nooooooo!!!

We had this one girl that had more beard then we did in highschool. We were jealous and called her Beardwoman.

This one girl worked at a gas station and she did a lot of rough work using her hands. We called her Man Hands because well.. she had the hands of a man. *Follow-up story* We had a friend that passed out during grad party. He woke up to her giving him a hand job. We laughed at him and said he was man handled my Manhands!

College time!:

This one guy had what we think is a glass eye. He easily became Cyborg!

This other guy had cheeks that seemed perma imploded! It looked like he was sucking on a super soul ball like Homer in that one episode. He became. Sour Candy Boy

We had this one guy that out of nowhere did a presentation for the class about viruss....virii ! He seemed very paranoid about getting a computer virus. He became. Virusboy!

We had a janitor that I still swear to god today.. He is.. Rodney Dangerfield! Or so we thought he looked like him

We named one guy , Fantastique! (we went to a french college). Anyhow, he was flamboyantly gay and kept using that word to describe everything. Nobody else would usually do that. So he became Fantastique!

At work:

We have this one guy that always goes to the washroom. Me and 3 others noticed that anytime either one of us goes he is often there. We assume his blatter is the size of a dime. Anyhow, he has white hair and looks like Mister Burns. We were gonna call him Burns but for some reason he came out as Whitey McGee

-------------------------

Well, that's all I could think of right now. I am certain that you guys have just as many good ol' original nicknames for people. It's just fun to find out how they came about.

Share 'em if you'd like :)

I like the time when we were in the elevator and in came Rodney Dangerfield (the janitor). It took everything we had not to burst out saying "No respect, I get no respect"

Hmmm I guess in an Everquest community the most part are not nickname givers but nickname recipients!

One of my friends in high school was caught, literally, nibbling on cheeze-it's.. holding them individually with 2 hands.

From then on out he was known as "Mouse-Guy". Nowadays he's a potsmoking wannabe punk rock star. But we still go to his shows with "I <3 Mouseguy" shirts, to which the stories have to be told and retold and retold every show.

Another friend I had in high school was named Theresa Goguen. We used to call her D.G. Short for "Dirty Goguen" which is a Pete's Dragon reference. It was even better because she was the perfect little catholic good-girl.

For the most part, the other names didn't stick. DG and Mousyguy still get used to this day.

There was a friend of mine in highscool named Geoff. Another friend of mine and I used to come up with a nickname for him almost daily. Every time we came up with a new name for him we just added it in to the old one. Each name represented something about him or his personality wether it was his hair, how he played basketball, or his attitude towards this or that...he hated it.

When all was said and done he had a name that was something like 55 words long or more. It always started with Sotm, which started the whole thing (an abbreviation for student of the month) and always ended with elbowboy, because you could throw an elbow at him when playing basketball and he would do nothing about it. All the other names just filled up the middle. We ended up needing to write it down to remember it all. But, what I do remember is this..

Sotm Newhall Ringo Winner Catlover Mario Dan Socks Slick Slurpy Pete Elroy Elbowboy.

Yeah, it is only about a quarter of his name...but it was 10 years ago, so..

Either way, we usually called him Pete...for no real good reason.

All my friends in hs had nicknames, but damned if I can remember them.

Another one, one time at basketball basketball scrim my friend collapse to the ground after catching a knee in the groin. He laid on the ground crying and complaining how much it hurt. I couldn't help but bust out and say "Go get the coach! Weintraub has a weiner throb!!!" Everyone including the injured my friend in all his agony busted out in laughter. Turns out he got a hernia from that incident and missed the rest of the season.

Unfortunately for him, he never escaped the "Weiner Throb" label to this day.

For fat people names we've come up with are:
Marshmellow, Big Boy, Fat Ass, Puffball, one kid's last name was Franks, so we called him "Ballpark".

People who look wierd:
Beaver, Beaver #2, Pooh Bear, Duckboy

People with interesting names:
Cochran = The Cock, Cockface, etc (good), Valentine (as a first name), Kehoe = "Hoe-Master", some kid from Kentucky we called "Kentucky" and one from Idaho was "Idaho", kid named BJ was named "Blow Job", one kid's last name was Schoer, so we called him Jersey.

People who we never bothered to learn their names, but recognized their socially inept abilities by giving them a number for their name:
"Number 1" "Number 2" "Number 3" "Number 4" "Number 5"
Number 5 was later renamed to Pooh Bear.

For the most part as a senior in HS, we never bothered to learn the names of a freshman, and basically anyone that wasn't a senior was concidered a freshman. Rather than learning their names, we assigned one to them, which they accepted without a word. In fact most people never told us their real names, which made it easier. Yeah, we were assholes, but they didn't seem to mind for the most part. The mean names we kept private like the fat ones.

My names were Iceberg and The Barbarian, due to my complete disregard for safety during sports (smashing people). And So-Co due to my ability to drink a near deadly dose of Southern Comfort.
My name is (removed to protect dolphinlovers)

Joseph, a big black kid = Hoss
David. Does OMGIAMRETARDEDCAUSEALOTISTWOWORDS of dumb things where he just goes to far = O.D. or D-train

Me, being the only white kid in the class, as well as jackass stunt extrordinaire = Bam, Margera, or Farmboy.
