Verizon DSL Question.

Post by Lor »

If there are any Verizon DSL users here, Do you have more than one computer hooked up through a router? we are signing up for that plan where they give you a router and can have up to 4 pc's on the one line and the main question is this, do you notice any kind of lag if the pc's are on at the same time? secondary question,if so how does it affect EQ gameplay?

Thanks.

I have verizon dsl - I have a router and have had up to three machines - I've two boxed on eq with no problems so long as the connection was fine

I didn't notice that having an extra machine in and of itself caused any lag - however if there was general lag in te connection for some reason then both would lag a bit

I have Verizon DSL with 4 computers hooked up - up to 3 have played EQ simultaneously with no problems.

Well, not really a Verizon specific question.

I have SBC and multi-connections through a router and it's fine.

The only time I ever saw lag was when my ex fiancee's son decided he wanted to play streaming Internet radio through another computer while I was playing EQ. Mind you this was a station that he could receive just fine over the airwaves from his own bedroom.

I have Verizon DSL, 3 computers, but I have an Netgear Ethernet hub rather than a router. I honestly don't know the difference, but it works with no problems at all.

When I was playing EQ, there were 3 of us using our own router on one Verizon DSL line. I never noticed any lag.

Their customer srvice was shitty. Billing service was even shittier. No lag, though.

Given my experiences with the company, I'd suggest cable over Verizon, if they're your only local option for DSL.

I had verizon dsl for over 4 years. I've had 6 computers playing eq without a connection problem.

Verizon customer service sucks, and their billing department sucks. Other than that they are fine.
