But of course to the average moron who reads fox news like midnyte they just see the word "constitution"and bust a nut all over their keyboards because the only context they know it in is to equate it to the US constitution.
So if we were to give them the same kind of freedoms we have, they would immediately give it away and turn the country into another fudie Islamic shithole? But we're morons for trying to prevent this? :?:

if the majority supports it then democracy is working.

what your country is doing is denying the majority of iraq their democratic right to vote for their system of government and manipulating policy to favor a USA-approved western style of leader.

I think she was pointing out that we tell them that they can govern themselves however they choose... as long as they choose the way we want them to.

I think in this case atleast, they are doing the right thing. Simply allowing the country to convert to an Islamic theocracy would result in many deaths, as one of the first orders of business would be to take care of those pesky Kurds. Eventually the country would probably end up worse off than it was when this started, and we would have to go in and clean it up all over again.

I was against the war in Iraq from the beginning, but if you are going to do something, then you should stick it out and do it right. I don't buy the domino theory that the administration is so quick tout, but we can surely try to keep the country from ending up worse off than it was when we started. I tend to be pretty cynical, and I seriously doubt that Iraq is going to become the peaceful, democratic jewel of the middle east simply because the US stepped in and said so, but I think in this case, it is atleast worth a shot. If the whole thing blows up and ends in violence, with a new Taliban like government seizing control of Iraq, atleast we can console ourselves that we tried to do the right thing.
