No holds barred discussion. Someone train you and steal your rare spawn? Let everyone know all about it! (Not for the faint of heart!)

Learning Languages

Post by Siji »

Ok.. I'm impatient and don't want to spend a semester or three in JC or the local university learning a language one or two nights a week. I tried the CD thing where you pop it in the cd player and listen to the spew stuff and you're supposed to repeat it, and that sucked. I've searched and searched for a local tutor or school that specializes in just teaching foreign languages but to no avail. (here in Tampa anyway)

Anyone have any suggestions on ways they've successfully learned a foreign language? I really don't have a deadline, I'm just hoping to do better than the one night a week at the local college thing for umpteen thousand dollars.

If it matters, the language I'm looking to learn is Italian (spanish is next).

Danke!

Move to Italy?

edit: This product (except for Japanese) was what most people I knew used, to get a good start when I lived in Japna.
