I watched something on the Discovery channel about this voyage. All these species where found at about 1km underneath New Zealand.

Pretty cool stuff.

Right...:)...CSIRO has a marine sciences lab that's part of U Tas and is affiliated with NORFANZ...The guy linking this was/is at UTAS...

He had a bunch of links about AUV...which to a marine biologist is an autonomous underwater vehicle and because the links seemed Marine biology oriented thats what I thought he was referring to...Turns out he was talking about unmanned aerial vehicles...:)

I just assumed UTAS had gotten an AUV because of the strength of their Marine Sciences school...and these deep marine fish are the sorts of things one studies with an AUV...

So I was just a bit confused...:)

lol if one of these hits your leg when skiing...then you "friends and/or spouse" in the boat are looking to collect on your insurance and have hooked you to a downrigger...:)...let go of the rope fast!....
