The Butterfly Effect
I really liked Butterfly Effect. I didn't think Ashton Kutcher would do it for me, as I have seen enough of his face to last me two lifetimes, but he actually did alright in a serious role. The movie did have a bit of a tendency from going from ultra-serious to verging on comical situations though... but I guess I always have been a sucker for the sci-fi "what if" type of movie. If you don't go into the movie expecting a oscar-caliber performance and have a little imagination, you won't walk out disappointed.
I saw this movie over the weekend.
Yeah, it's a great movie! Ashton is a good actor but you tend to get tired of a person after 7ish years of the same character (dumb funny good looking guy).
I really liked the ending. It finished the way I wanted it to, not the usual ending.
I suggest if you got confused at "The Sixth Sense" to not go and see the Butterfly Effect" because it requires a bit of thought during the movie.
Out of 138 stars I give it a 107.

I have no sense of decency. This way , all my other senses are enhanced!

Yeah, holy fucking bump from the past, but I have a question for others that have seen this movie. Yes, I thought it was a great movie despite all the flaws involved with time travel, or rather in this case, "time reversal" but whatever; that's not what I have to ask.
A friend just rented this, and I watched it again - in the very last scene when Ashton is walking out of his office building on his cell, he's talking to "someone." He's talking about dinner or something then it sounded to me like he said "I love you, Mom" - however, the "mom" sounded really muffled, and maybe it's not really there. I kept getting some "no subtitles" recorded shit when I tried turning them; maybe my DVD player sucks or the DVD sucks. Either way, it's got me irked as to whether he's found a new love or if that was just his mom, and the window for Kaylee is still open.
Or maybe I'm just weird and dig too much into these movies and their storylines =/
Any help would be appreciated.

Do unto others what has been done to you.
I rented this last night and the ending I saw was completely different (I watched the Director's Cut version). Were there 2 seperate endings?Drinsic Darkwood wrote:Yeah, holy fucking bump from the past, but I have a question for others that have seen this movie. The copy I got from Netflix SAID to choose Director's Cut or Theatrical version...but then it told to you flip (a one-sided DVD) over for the Theatrical version.
From the Director's Cut...dunno how much really IS different from the end of the Theatrical version:
Like I said, I don't know what the other ending was.

I thought it was a great movie. It effected me in a "Donnie Darko-esqe" way. Meaning, it kinda lingered with me some time after I viewed it. Yes, it had some small plot holes, but certianly none that were glaring enough to distract me while watching the film. One of the things I couldn't help but notice about Butterfly Effect was all the taboo subjects that happened. Most never get seen in a major motion picture, and this movie touched on a good 3-4 truely disturbing things in sordid detail.
I give it an 8.5 out of 10.

I'm not downloading a whole movie just for 3 minutes difference!Winnow wrote:It's on alt.binaries.movies.divx as I write this!
