First concert would have been a_random_jazz concert that my dad dragged me to, I'm guessing. First one I remember was James Taylor sometime around 1981.
Best concerts:
Prince on the Lovesexy tour
or
U2, Zooropa
or
Jeff Buckley in uh...'99?

Chicago Symphony Orchestra, age 6.
Going into the non-classical world was hard for me, as I was in love with it.
my first non-classical concert was New Kids on the Block, when I was 9 or so. I was also very much into DC Talk and christian bands when I was in junior high and early high school. Saw DC Talk about 5 times, Newsboys, MXPX, Five Iron Frenzy, Steven Curtis Chapman, Michael W. Smith, Sandy Patti, etc.
I finally ventured into the secular world, I believe the first concert I went to was probably Metallica or Smashing Pumpkins. I've also been to several Rage Against The Machine concerts (<3 Tom Morello!!), one of the best ones of them was featuring Wu Tang and Atari Teenage Riot. Been to Savage Garden, SP, etc.
I think my favorite ones of course were the RATM, but also Smashing Pumpkins... seeing Billy Corgan up close at a venue as intimate as the Aragon Theater in Chicago was simply amazing!
