Batman Begins

Post by Keverian FireCry »

New batman movie coming out, though it is supposed to basically reinvent the movie series. It looks like it will be a LOT better than the last two movies.
It is supposed to take place before the Batman movies we are familiar with.
Cast

Christian Bale .... Batman
Michael Caine .... Alfred Pennyworth
Morgan Freeman .... Lucius Fox
Larry Holden .... District Attorney Fitch
Katie Holmes .... Rachel
Cillian Murphy .... Dr. Jonathan Crane
Liam Neeson .... Henri Ducard
Ken Watanabe .... Ra's Al Ghul (Japanese from The Last Samurai)

Directed by Christopher Nolan. He directed Momento and Insomnia. He kicks ass. Look forward to a much darker Batman film than the last two. Thank god for that.

The main villain in this is Ra's Al Ghul. He is an immortal master of martial arts/strategy who wants to rule the world basically. This main bad guy taught Batman's mentor all of his skills.

The other villain, which I have a feeling will not have a huge part is The Scarecrow. Dr. Jonathan Crane(actor from "28 days later") becomes the Scarecrow and he is in the cast listing.

I'm pretty excited, I really hope this will redeem the Batman movies. The last two movies were just horrible.

The Scarecrow is not a golem...Dr. Jonathan Crane is The Scarecrow - at least in the DC universe.

Could be they changed it for the movie, I couldn't say!

I'm looking forward to this, but I can't help wonder if Chris Nolan is going to screw this up by trying to be too clever about it. I wish they would have asked Frank Miller to do more than just be a small-time consultant on the script.

If it doesn't have Arnold in a Power Rangers suit making bad one-liners about the cold, then it's CRAP!

Like many, I really liked the first movie, but pretty much thought the others were all shit. Bale is a fantastic actor if any have seen American Psycho and Equilibrium. I just hope has isn't all retarded like Kilmer and Clooney were in their roles.

Ditto!

I'd say it's real unlikely he'll turn Batman retarded. And if he does, it's the fault of the script writers and directors, not him!

Yeah he did. Ra's has to be one of my favorite villains and Ken Watanabe seems like perfect casting to me.

The Scarecrow's main ability is that he uses high frequency waves transmitted by electronics that he makes aswell as gases to induse fear in his victims. Hard to fight when all your worst fears are coming true as vivid hallucinations..
