I love seeing those words. A little snow on the ground in Georgia freaks people out.

The university I work at here in WI has never closed. A couple weeks ago we must have had at least 4 feet of snow piled up after 2 weeks of constant snowfall.

What is this Snow you speak of ? I know nothing of this phenominon. I have heard rumor that it is frozen rain that falls from the skies. If this is true , it must really hurt to be in "snow"

anyways, i took the opportunity to cruise in at around 11 after catching breakfast at IHOP with some friends in the neighborhood :)

dude, they were on like a 2hr wait at WH.

plus the WH at my exit is a shithole

but hell yes, i would have gotten a Bacon, Egg and Cheese sandwich plate, with my potatoes scattered, smothered, diced, and double covered.

I used to get them topped too, but i'm an old man now, got to lay off the chili if i can't allocate several hours to a toilet later.

On a cloudy day, the sky is white/grey.

These so-called "snowflakes" are white/grey flecks.

These so-called "snowflakes" are dropping from the sky.

Conclusion: The sky is falling!

OMG, that is EXACTLY what I love to eat at WH!! I don't get the chili either, but thats because you gotta draw the line somewhere! That is the bestest breakfast.

You are all pussies.

Try living in Eastern Canada for a whole winter.

When I was a kid there'd be freezing rain and the schoolbus would be driving 60 MPH in a 2 lane street.

You if you would see 15 feet in front of you, schools would be open.

Where i live now(Ottawa) we get a lot of ppl who move here every year that have never even seen snow. Every year, in early november I run into people that are still wearing sandals at close to freezing to -10 celcius and on the day where we get the first inch or so of snow there are cars in ditches every 100 feet or so.

actually never had their waffles. I'm more of a pancakes girl and don't typically eat waffles. They don't soak up the syrup as well.

Yesterdays prediction: 'light dusting of snow / freezing rain mix'

Todays forecast: ' 6-12"s of snow '

Yeah, but I live in NC, it's common to have snow during the winter season around here, but it still freaks everyone out. I love it!

and those pools spill out the syrup when you cut the waffle, attach it to your fork, and lift it up to your mouth. Do we really need Vor to educate us on semi-liquid substances and gravity?

pancakes > waffles

Edit: Oh, and when a pancake is soaked with syrup, it is at least evenly spread throughout and you don't get those little mouthfuls of syrup the few times a pool manages to stay intact.

But I like waffles and pancakes. And crepes. Yumz! But usually never for breakfast. And usually I feel like ass after eating them. So why I like them I'll never know :D

i'm a spaz about waffles, pancakes and french toast. i HATE when they get soggy, so i pour a little puddle of syrup over on the side of my plate and dip each bite. i eat less syrup that way and don't feel sick after. win win.

Yeah I remember when I moved to atlanta and they called off school because it *might* snow...and it never did snow and all the kids had the day off.

I grew up near detroit...I'd have to walk a 1/2 mile to school with snow up past my mother fucking knees. Seriously. And we didn't think twice about it.

As for Awful Waffle they really seem to be expanding, were getting a ton of them lately near Cincinatti (we will never catch up to atlanta though, that shit was crazy). Down in Florida though you still have like the "wanna be's" like Omelette House and such....they are about the same thing.

IHOP > all though. I heard ones opening near here too recently woohoo!

P.S. if you haven't smothered your hash browns with the casa de waffle salsa your missing out.

the main reason school gets canceled so quick in Georgia if it snows is that none of the bus drivers know how to drive in the shit. Especially rural counties where they have to drive on some dirt roads, etc.

Just one winter? I've lived here my whole life

Nova Scotia got hit with 93.3cm of snow on the 19th. Thats 36.73inches in one snowfall. Luckily I live a bit further east and we just got a few cm by the time that storm hit us. Our record snowfall was I think in 2001 when a single storm left an accumulation around 74cm (29.13inches). We had a snow day but that was about all the time the slow clearing folks needed to get the roads passable.

Any amount of snow large or small can be a hazard. Especially for places that can't get rid of it (lack of snow clearing equipment/operators), have a populace that is not used to driving in it and if the majority of vehicles on the road are not outfitted properly for it (ex snowtires!). Here we are used to it but these days snow is falling in the strangest places - ya global warming :(

Buses ???? I remember those things. Way back in elementary school. Then the lovely California Ed system (mainly Alameda County) decided it was too costly. Try living 10-15 miles out from town and get to school :(

Ya Lynxe but they cancel school there in Atlanta some times before it snows, and then it doesn't end up snowing and they still have school off.

I remember that one time I was mentioning, I didn't see a single flake. Snow clearing equipment or driving ability was not a factor.

And they start saying how cold it is outside and wearing winter coats when it's like 70 degrees outside. Some of the girls working under me used to come in in big puffy jackets complaining about the cold when I'm driving witht he windows down and wearing short sleeves.

they have 2 or 3 "snow days" built into the schedule, so this week, it is late in the winter, and we havent had any snow days yet, so i think a lot of school systems didnt really have to worry much about taking the day off.

1. Kids are now at home, where are the parents? Parents are at work? Parents had to use sick/vacation days for stupid bullshit?

2. Will the tax payers get a refund? I mean they paid for thier kids to be in school...there was no legit reason for the kids to be out of school.

3. Do kids need to have even worse educations? I thought it was bad enough already.
