WoW: Beta will not have NDA

Impressive. Looks like they think they have something here. Hopefully that's the case. It will be interesting to see if this marks a new trend in the MMOG industry with upcoming games like Sigil's currently unnamed product and SOE's Everquest 2.
Oh, my God; I care so little, I almost passed out.

Im guessing that they were referring to open beta not having the NDA. Id be pretty surprised if the closed beta didnt have an NDA. Its a bit unclear but thats how I read it.

The hunnie and I were discussing this last night. He's never heard of an MMORPG NOT having an NDA.

They must be pretty confident in the game to not have an NDA in place for beta. :D

They've been revealing so much about the game lately, having no NDA will just further up the hype over the game.

Check out the new screenshots, especially the first 5.

They even have a coral reef! The more screens I see, the more excited I am to play this game.

Before Winnow comments on the graphics again, yes, they are on the "cartoony" side, but I really like them.

If the cartoony look wasn't intentional, then I'd have a problem with it - but it looks fucking great if you ask me, and I'm pretty picky about that sort of thing. I really dig the style of it. Now if they'd just make a feature length movie in CGI (even straight to DVD), I'm sure it would be worth watching.

The artistic style of WoW is fucking great. I hate all these MMORPGs trying to make uber graphics when they just end up looking bland. Like EQ2 graphics, IMO they are detailed, but they seem bland and have no style to them. WoW has this great stylistic, colorful feel and everything really just jumps out at you. It looks fan-fuckin-tastic.

This is exactly how I felt when I first saw AO, and then DAOC, and now EQ2.

I love how WoW took an original approach to the graphics design of their game. Overall I think it will appeal to the majority of the people in the market, even if it looks cartoony (which I love by the way). Images like the coral reef SS make my mouth water in anticipation.

Same way I felt about Luclin +, I enjoyed the original graphics of EQ personally. EQ, Kunark, and Velious looked just fine to me. It was simple, but it all fit together well. Now you have old graphics, mixed with new and it doesnt seem right at all. The new models may have been more detailed, but is it just me or did most races look retarded and the animations were uber-tarded.

Not to mention all the new graphics made my framerate go to shit!!!!

Must find a way to bribe my way into Beta

If you ask me they shouldn't even allow beta testing, all I've seen in 9/10 cases in the last 3 years is the dev's folding repeatedly to stupid massmarket demands and destroying their game.
