Hasek out for rest of season...

Post by Xouqoa »

Man, wtf. All of that hullabulloo about coming back, he plays ~20 games and then is gone again. I'm glad the Wings were unable to move Joseph. I do wish they would make Legace the #1 goalie. But rotating them out seems to be working nicely, so I guess that'll do for now.

Aww poor Xou :p Now you know what the injury pain is!

Of course, I'm pretty much unsympathetic to your plight as injury riddled as my Blues are currently. Add to that the team is playing just so piss poor while the GM Pleau does nothing but pick up Eric Weinrich from Philly and we've got a team just collecting a paycheck and we still don't have a steady goaltender in Osgood or, heaven forbid, Reinhard Divis!

Doubt we'll even make the playoffs this year, our owner just seems to be hanging out till the lockout next season. Who knows what kind of team us or anyone else will have after that.

Well, I'm not so concerned about the injury he sustained as much as I am about his lack of dedication to the team. I mean, the guy retires, and then comes back one year later. He puts the ENTIRE team in a bind due to the financials of the situation, and as a result poor Joseph doesn't know if he's going to be playing in Grand Rapids or Detroit from night to night. Then, when he gets hurt and it doesn't get better for a while he just up and decides to say he's done for the season when there are still 30 games left to play until the playoffs?

To me that shows an utter disregard for his team and fellow players on that team. If I were Hasek, I would have continued to rehab the rest of the season and at least made an effort of it. He's going to get paid either way, so he could have at least fucking tried in my opinion.

Seems to me that he thought coming back might mean an easy 2nd Cup win, and since it didn't work out that way maybe he's not as interested in playing as he thought he was. That's all just speculation on my part, but for someone who calls himself 'The Dominator', he sure did give up easily.

Yes, Because Joseph is a young spring chicken :P Actually, he still plays good.... when he plays. I am a Leafs fan so I still hold a small spot in my heart for him... *sniff*

Actually for some reason I never did like Hasek. He is a great goal but I do not like his attitude. He has great acting skills for when someone mearly brushes up against him.

The shittiest part about that whole situation is that the Wings didn't even know that he was going to say he was out for the season until he broke that news in the press conference. As far as they knew, he was getting better and was even going to be working out in full pads this week. Quite a difference, then, when the guy says he's out for the season.

Dom is and always has been a pussy, there are tons of guys in the NHL who play through the pain.

Like Yzerman, playing the entire 2002 Cup playoffs on basically one knee. Amazing. But I guess that's why he's the longest tenured Captain in the league and one of the classiest guys all around.

Or Super Mario. Even cancer couldn't keep him out of the gold and black for too long.

What a sham he turned out to be. Rumour has it (I'm a girl, I like spreading rumours so fuck off) that Dom was arrested in his native Czech Republic (I forget for what) and that the Wings bailed him out of the jam and in turn he came back and decided to un-retire. I'm pretty positive that there is no truth to this but the thought that the Red Wings orginization went to that sort of trouble to then get shafted is funny.

Local Detroit radio was talking about that rumor this morning as well. They said something about him being acquitted of something, but that the decision was being appealed over there. ( I do not know how the judicial system works in eastern europe ) In an effort to find safe harbour, he decided to come back out of retirement.

There was that rollerhockey incident where he hit someone and it was borderline assault or something, but I was thinking he was cleared of any wrongdoing in that.

Try being a Kings fan:

Jason Allison
Ziggy Pallfy
Adam Deadmarsh
Martin Straka
Aaron Miller
Lubomer Visnofsky

Plus all the roll players, LA is up to like 400 games of injuries this season and still contending for a playoff spot. That a pretty good team on the DL.

you know, its almost like theres something in the water or maybe its the air :?

Hehe, the Leafs are in a similar situation.
Mogilny has been out for months and Belfour, Nieuwendyk, Nolan, Kaberle, Antropov, Renberg and Reichel have all missed 10+ games due to injury... but are still 2 points out of top spot in the NHL.

Would you guys get the fuck out of our bitchfest thread! :P All teams are hit by the injury bug, Xou and I have special reason to complain though because the Wings have like $16M tied up in goalie salaries this year.

All because that fuckhead Dominic Hasek decided to come back a year after he retired. He ended up making, for the 14 or 16 games he played this year, around $430,000 per game. That's fucking preposterous when we are already paying one goalie $8M and another like $2M.

Yeah yeah, I know what you're going to say about overpaying players and such, I don't want to hear it!

It's no bitchfest. It's stating facts... We (LA Kings) have a bigger payroll on IR than we do on the ice and are on the way to beating the record for man games lost this season with 4 of our top 6 forwards and 2 of our top 4 D on the IR AND we're still in contention. Mind you, it's not even a few games here or there that these guys have missed: Deadmarsh has been out the whole season as has Allison and both of these guys would be on our top line along with Ziggy who is gonna be out the rest of the year. Straka got hurt over a month ago and is only expected back this season if we make the playoffs. Miller has missed more games than he's played... The list goes on.

I reiterate: I'm not bitching whatsoever. I think the Kings are doing fabulously with a journeyman, a sophmore NHL'er and a (supposed) 3'rd liner as our top goal scorers and I couldn't be prouder of them. But a fact is a fact and when Kings fan hear other people bitching about injuries, we have no pity for them.

Trek: rumour has it that all the bad voodoo has to do with the Gretz statue that was erected in Staples. Something about him not ever winning us a Stanley Cup... Let's hope that with the Magic Johnson statue that's supposed to be going up, that all the bad voodoo is counteracted. =P

That is it in a nutshell, I find it rather amusing.

I don't blame Gretz for this or even think bad of him for not bringing us the cup, after we lost the finals to Roy there where many many bad decisions made...none of them where Gretskys.

*snicker* Hasek*snicker*comeback next year *snicker*$8million more please *snicker*

Like Zoocow said the arrest was either roller hockey or minor league stuff in Cze. where he was charged with assault after allegedly taking some guy down and whacking him in the head with his stick. There was all kinds of "yes he's clear" "no he's not" about it that I don't know if anyone knows what his status is :p

Neither do I but as I said, a lot of the supersticious fans think it has to do with the statue since the timeframe of the Kings being massively injury-prone coincide with when the statue was erected. I don't know if you've ever been to letsgokings.com forums but it's a fun read every once in a while. Like every other board, you got your shit-talkers and your informative threads...
