C'mon....why is a 77 year old Cuban jazz musician a threat to our national security? The real tragedy here is that more people are concerned about Janet Jackson being banned from the grammies.

Mix this with the recent detaining at the airport of a small group of student anti-war lobbyists (led by teacher) who were headed to Washington to learn about the lobbying process, and I don't like the result one bit. Apparently, they, too, were a threat to our security, some of them having turned up on a federal no-fly list because of their political activism on campus.

anti-castro cuban dissidents have a pretty powerful lobby in florida. naturally george bush does everything he can to pander to them because it is such an important state.
it's pretty fucking pathetic that cuba still has to suffer this fucking bullshit because of a handful of whiny rich ex-cubans who think that by making the entire country an impoverished shithole by demanding sanctions is actually helping out their countrymen. of course it has the opposite effect. most are just cranky that castro took all their lucrative slave labor industries away when he nationalized their economy.
