on clicking on " i don't care " i was at first thinking, it's their boards, they own it, they pay for it, etc....but then i remembered that a handful of people donated their own money to make VV a bigger and better and faster place...

personally i really don't care. i come to VV to read the threads and sometimes post something retarded. i don't even look at the avatars half the time.

if you view these boards at work, it is at your own risk. no one is forcing you to log in at work.

I voted yes as a temp solution. Merely for the fact that the NWS avatars needed to be dealt with. Beyond that, no, I don't agree at all.

To be completely honest, I personally don't care about the size. I'm always on a high speed connection, so it's not a big deal to me.

Having said that, the fact that it's an important issue for other users on the board makes it worth supporting a size restriction.

Honestly, I have 1.5MB DSL at home and T1 at work. The female groping avatars were much higher on my shit list than 200k avatars.

That's not to say I don't care. I'd prefer all avatars under 50k, but it's less of an issue to me at the moment.

Well, so far only 13 people voted a firm 'No'.

VV has always been a (mostly) self-policing community. The members of the community are who influence things around here (to a certain extent). Seems the majority think some people should limit their NWS shenanigans to the appropriate place. Which was created for that very reason. It doesn't seem like an unreasonable request to me. And from the votes (thus far), to most of the other people here.

Is mine considered NWS? It's rather out of focus and I actually asked one of my managers if they had a problem with it, which she didn't, but then she saw some of the others. I can change mine if needed. My only problem with my avatar are the constant requests for the other pictures...
