World of Warcraft Beta - Dont look if you dont care

Post by Cotto »

January 26, 2004
World of Warcraft Beta Signups This Week!
At 6:00 pm PST on Wednesday, January 28th, the signup period for the World of Warcraft Beta Test will officially begin. We will provide a link to the beta-test application right here in the news section at that time. Testers are not going to be chosen on a first-come, first-served basis, so you will be able to submit an application and receive equal consideration anytime during the signup period, which will end on Wednesday, February 4th at 6:00 pm PST. Please note that multiple submissions from the same household will result in complete disqualification.

For this initial phase of the World of Warcraft beta test, we will only be able to accept applications from Canada, Korea, and the US. The test for Europe and other countries around the world will happen later this year. Please do not contact us for further information regarding the beta test; we will be posting a FAQ in the days ahead.
GL on all those who are gonna try, sadly us U.K peeps are gettin left out :(

I have 4 roommates, all of whom would like to get in on this. Am I correct in assuming that we would qualify as a "household"? That sucks if so, I wonder if I could put in my work address, or use my parents' house or something.

Yes you would be considered as a household. Now you might be able to get around it by having a Suite 4a Suite 4b etc, but that would be touch and go.

Yeah, too bad Koreans wreck pretty much every video game they've ever come in contact with.

The koreans used to make me cry when they started to play rainbow 6 (the original version).

Why game no go!
GOOGOGOGGOGOGOGO
GOGOGOGOOGOG
GOGOGOGO GWHY NO GO

Of course, they would be spamming this shit incessantly as soon as they died, ignoring the fact that the game won't start a new round until one team is eliminated. Or when they first joined a game, and the host hasn't even had a chance to set up the ruleset yet for that game.

Sylvus: if you have the same address, then only one person should apply. But you can use other addresses - IE I live in a dorm and my roomate is using our neighboring female dormmates room #

My leet inside sources report that you can play more than one character per account at the same time. So you really only need one acct per household, technically, but hey, I like the multiple address plan :)

Is that only for beta?

From the Blizzard WoW forum:
Given the high sensitivity of the World of Warcraft beta test, hotmail and yahoo email addresses will not be accepted. Your email address will be the primary means of contact concerning the beta test. Please make sure to double check that the email address you provide is valid and will be for the foreseeable future.

---> make sure you pick a PERM account (like ISP or something?) that won't expire. I've had my college email address since 1995! I got permission to give you this info early so you can get another email if that's your only one :)

Gratz me 20 beta applications so far. 20 unique emails, 20 unique addresses, 20 unique names! At least I should get a feel for what percentage of applications are accepted!

No, I don't know why.

Was this for me?

If so, no worries. When I say "us" I mean one app for our house. :D
