WOW - thanks for the memories. I grew up in Western NY and we did the exact same thing!Seebs wrote:Growing up in upstate NEw York .. it was a mortal sin if you threw away any empty plastic bread bag.
All bread bag were to be used as a lining between your socks and your boots in winter.
I have fond memories of putting my wet, cold boots infront of the downstairs register and putting on piping hot boots (with said bread bags for water proofing) and running out in the snow.
what great days.

I used to get forced to wear the ski bibs too. This one time, the zipper got stuck on my ski bibs, and I had to pee really bad and had to hold it all the way home from the mountain until my mom could unstick the zipper for me. Was horrible!
Oh.. and on a completely hilarious note... I think the ski bibs that Sylvos is wearing in that picture, were my mom's.

You even posed for the fucking picture. Quit whining, you knew this was coming.Sylvos wrote:I myself, look utterly dashing in a pair of black ski bibs.
Dead sexy.
And the Karaoke VV's wouldn't be yours - you're just the subject of the picture (lost on my brother's stupid phone). They'd be mine - cause I am the artist that will someday bring the karaoke love to VV.

You wear what it takes to stay warm when skiing, although my pants don't have the bib (well not since the late 1980's) and my chest has never gotten cold.
Speaking of which I tried to switch to snowboarding last saturday. I was back on skiis like 2 hours later....I always thought skiing and snowboarding were a lot more similar than they are...I mean I got the technique down some on the board, but....eh I wanted to get off the greens and back on the double diamonds with my friends.
