tired of your job?, me too!
for the last 8 years or so ive been more or less self employed(a subcontracter for the most part) as a music teacher, starting privately out of home and others homes, then later on in music stores
it was not much work, for ok money, and it worked for a while, i had some shit happen and stopped teaching, altogether
i then tried my hand at 'normal' work, that was this last year, i found i couldnt keep a job for more than 2 months at a time
the concept of working 40+ hours a week(for any amount of money) seems insane to me, considering how short life is
so ive been trying to come up with other ideas around that
i set myself a goal to within 1 year not be working for anyone, this wont be hard, as i dont have many financial ties, and dont need too much money to live(i enjoy the starving musician lifestyle), my goal was to work via a combination of private lessons, ebay, and hopefully electronic contraption design/building/sales, mostly effect pedal type things, to bizzare electronic instruments
well, longer story short, i just quit my last job, and im looking to try jumping into this ebay thing head first, at least for a month or 2 to see if its feasible(right now im trying to save for a powerbook), i have tons of shit around the house i can start selling, and have always loved flea markets/thrift stores
so having some shit to start with(no initial investment) and the desire to find shit isnt a problem
do any of you do any serious amount of ebaying?
if so, any auction management programs you prefer?, how bout managing the fianances from it?,
have any good online strategy/guides for ebaying for a living?
or tips/tricks for finding spots/shit that can resell for good money
any other small business types?(mind you i have no 'startup money' and awful credit)

small business was a bad choice of words, my mom owns her own business and when she started she worked 7days a week, i was mostly thinking along the lines of selling something you make, or services online, or locally, nothing hugely 'legit', realistically, hoping to make around 20k a year abouts at most(from a combination of teaching/whatever else)
the 40hours wouldnt scare me too much if its at home on my pc most of the time, since that woudlnt really feel like working
