Have you guys noticed the track record of that Amber Alert program that gets the word out quickly when children are abducted?
Yesterday it worked again and helped police catch a guy who had abducted 3 kids.
I'd say that's an example of a good government program.
A government program I *do* like.
We get one in California every few weeks, and it's been pretty damn successful from what I've seen. Honestly, I see no problem with implimenting a program like that when people's lives are at risk, I just worry that there will come a point where someone will want to try and get involved because they've got a description and lisence plate number for a suspected kidnapper who happens to be just some soccer mom with an SUV full of 6 year olds.

I know I'm good at what I do, but I know I'm not the best.
But I guess that on the other hand, I could be like the rest.

It was a political movement spurred by citizens to steamline the way information about such cases is spread.
It raises awareness and, yes helps law enforcement.
Causes such as this are a good example of how citizens can shape their government for positive things.
I mention it because I get the feeling that you guys thing I oppose anything that has to do with the government.
