Since the moon days, has gameplay changed very much?
I mean, sure there's more spells and powers etc. but at it's core are you still doing the same things?
Has it gotten more complicated?
Has the gameplay changed?
I checked out my rogue recently since the new melee changes and I have to say that with the advent of these new 4 timer disc system/endurance system, it's changed the way that rogues are played. I spoke to a Warrior friend and he says that the new changes are great for warriors and really make them shine in groups. Warriors seem to finally be back in contention with Paladins and SK's in tankability.
However, since Luclin, PoP has introduced many changes to the mid level game (46-60). Namely, groups are now taking on mobs that were raid level difficult prior. Trash mobs in Bastion of Thunder now hit for over 400 at times and classes are very defined in their utility until a person reaches elementals.
Unfortunately with Exp bonuses in PoP zones being what they are, there's a lot more lvl 60-65 morons hanging around now than before.

the gameplay has changed in that there is a lot less time risked.
basically, xp grouping is completely devoid of any real risk. worst case scenario you are out 20 minutes and there is no CR to speak of. that's OK though because honestly it isnt that much fun to spend a couple hours CRing yourself - though it did motivate you not to fuckin kill yourself to start with etc, making the challenge of the game higher.
basically xp grinding is often so easy that clerics don't even need to cast real heals even with a ranger tanking. the day to day part of the game has gotten easier, and the raiding has gotten harder (in some ways).
raids are definitely more fun in most cases. the mobs are more challenging etc. again though there is minimal risk when you wipe. they have changed disciplines in a way that i think makes certain aspects of boss fights certainly easier.

I love this game more today than I ever did. The way they structured PoP is pure genius in my eyes. The flag progression, the limited those who can't raid well together, and rewarding those who can and then deliverin PoTime(the single greatest raiding zone ever!!!!) is pure genius...in my opinion.
Combine that with the fact that some of us have played with eachother for over 4 years, makes this game the best it has ever been. I look forward to the future.
