Vikings are legendary chokers. Until Favre decides that its time to retire (2-3 years from now is my guess), the Packers will always be in the thick of it. As long as MN treats Moss with kids gloves and relies on cheap shots and cheap tactics (piping crowd noise into speakers behind the visitor bench wtf?) they will always choke the fat one when crunch time comes. Consider the following NFL records the proud Viking Franchise shares:
Most Superbowls Lost (Shared with Denver and Buffalo)
One of two teams to go 6-0 and NOT make the playoffs (Washington is the other)
Biggest shutout loss in Playoff history (When the Giants blanked them 44-0)
Randy Moss is the Wayne Fonts of Minnesota. As long as he wins them enough games they will keep him around and ultimately it will drag their team down. What kind of team has a top ten offence and can't score the Arizona Cardinals with playoffs on the line? Or to Chicago?
Anyhow, I predict Caralina winning and Packers winning this week. St Luois has been stumbling and Caralina's pass rush will eat them alive. St Luois will win if they can beat the blitz and get up on Carolina early, but that hasn't been the case for them lately. If St Luois wins this game, they will probably advance to the superbowl if they face Greenbay, but not if they have to play the Eagles. Caralina will lose in the championship game no matter who they face.
Packer/Eagle game I expect to start slow with a lot of running by both teams, before picking up in the second half. The difference will be who can use play action effectively late in the game, which should be Greenbay. If McNabb can run effectively, then the eagles will win, but I don't see that occuring. If the Eagles win, they should go to the superbowl since they match up well against both Carolina and St Luois and will have the elements on their side. If Greenbay wins, they will probably only make it to the playoffs if Carolina wins since our pass rush isnt there against the Rams, especially in a dome.
AFC is easy to predict. Tenessee is beat up and will get eaten alive by the Patriots, who are the hottest team in football. If the Titan's were not so banged up, they might go all the way, but as it is they are just not healthy enough (see GB Atl game from last year for how injured teams do in the playoffs) to keep up the fight. I expect Indy to smoke the Chiefs, partly because Dungy knows how to shut down that offence and partly because KC is rattled after losing home field when they had a relatively easy schedule to close out the season. Ultimately, I expect Pats vs Indy and that is a game I can't even begin to predict.

War is an option whose time has passed. Peace is the only option for the future. At present we occupy a treacherous no-man's-land between peace and war, a time of growing fear that our military might has expanded beyond our capacity to control it and our political differences widened beyond our ability to bridge them. . . .
Short of changing human nature, therefore, the only way to achieve a practical, livable peace in a world of competing nations is to take the profit out of war.

This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children."

Just for the record I DID NOT TYPE THIS FOR JICE!!!!! No matter how many errors you see.
Randy Moss is the best WR in the league so I don't understand how he is dragging down the Vikings. In the game vs Arizona, they scored enough points in the end but it was the defense who choked like usual. The Vikings came back on the road in an outdoor stadium which is quite amazing for a team who couldn't win on the road. Once the Vikings get some defense they will go deep into the playoffs no doubt about it.Jice Virago wrote: Randy Moss is the Wayne Fonts of Minnesota. Every time Randy Moss does something like dive off with someone on his car hood to avoid getting busted for pot, he is a distraction. Every time the coaches and team management make an exception for him, the rest of the team resents it and it is a further distraction. Every time he gives up on a play because it does not involve him or he throws a tantrum at his quarterback on the sidelines, he causes even more resentment and distraction. That kind of shit builds up over time, but as long as he wins a couple big games here and there, management will look the other way. Ask San Fran how keeping TO over Mooch worked out for them.Momopi wrote:Randy Moss is the best WR in the league so I don't understand how he is dragging down the Vikings. They can also thank Dennis Green for dismantling what was once a feared defense, but is now a second string squad that could take years to rebuild. He dedicated everything towards the offense in a long standing trend started by the whole Herschel Walker trade fiasco. Ever since then, Minnesota's defensive abilities have been dependant on how much microphoned crowd noise they could pump behind the opposing bench, which is why they can't hold their ass with both hands on the road. But, honestly, they held the Cardinals to less points than the Chiefs, having them completely smothered until they folded late in the game. The real problem is Moss and company couldn't pile up more than a measely 17 points against one of the worst defenses in the league.

During the entire season this year, Randy Moss has not been a distraction. Ever since that incident with the parking meter person, he has been acting like a normal person and a responcible part of the team.
If you take a look at the Cardinals, they have a terrible overall record but look who they have beat this year. By no stretch of the imagination are they a pushover at home. Check out what they did at home over the year. They were in every game except for the Seattle one.

Vikings Coach House Egged
Minneapolis, MN (AP)
Minneapolis police reported that some individual attempted to "egg"
Mike Tice's house last night.
An empty egg carton was recovered at the scene. Two eggs hit Mr.
Tice's house, 3 eggs went over
his house and hit his neighbor's back door, 2 eggs hit the houses of
each of his next door neighbors,
and the remaining 3 eggs were found broken on the ground near the
carton from where the individual
threw them.
Looking at what was hit, police officials say they are considering
Daunte Culpepper as the primary suspect.
