New Years Eve Fights

Post by Kwonryu DragonFist »

New Years Eve Pride (Styles Fight Styles)

Royce Gracie(GJJ) VS Yoshida(Judo)

Draw according to the rules but many felt as if it could go to Royce!

Royce fought without a Gi this time!

Image

Image

Rogeiro "Lil Nog"(BJJ) VS Sakuraba(Submission Wrestling).

Rog won on Decision! I was hoping this to be Saku's comeback match tho!!

Image

Yuki Kondo(ShootFighting) VS Mario "Zen Machine" Sperry(BJJ).

Kondo won! Underestimated Kondo i did!

Image

Gary "Big Daddy" Goodrige (Kuk Sool Won) VS Don "Predator" Frye (Wrestling/Boxing).
This was Garys Retirement Fight, and he retired with a Bang! He knocked out Don Frye!

In this link you can see Interviews of the fighters! Those who are understandable are Heath Herring, Giant Silva, Gary Goodridge and Don "Tom Selleck" Frye's interviews!

I actually stopped watching UFC shortly after Royce Gracie and Don Frye left. Actually, Frye may have still been there at that time.

Odd seeing Akebono in boxing gloves... Also, it's my understanding that Akebono is a retired (long past prime) Sumo wrestler. I think it'd be interesting to see someone like Bob Sapp go up against a top Sumo wrestler in their prime. Though Akebono was Yokozuna once, he's no longer that Akebono. :( It's kind of sad to see him standing next to a man in a straight jacket with a Hannibal Lector mask. A sad, almost ironic, fate for the first gaijin yokozuna.

Not surprised to see Butterbean got his ass kicked. Amateur boxers really don't stand much chance. :P

Lol I'm very intrigued by the 'Stevie Wonder and Mike Tyson' headline....

That must have been a short fight!

Hehe! 367 Mb! Havent seen that one, that one is a new addition today!

Mike Tyson have challenged Sapp tho and everyone in the fight-scene is awaiting their fight, rumored to be in the first quarter of 2004.

-

The final overall average rating released for K-1's Dynamite!! 12/31 Nagoya Dome show was 19.5%, two points better than the 17.5% estimate. According to Japan's version of AP, PRIDE's 12/31 Saitama Super Arena show did a 12.2% overall rating and Inoki's 12/31 Kobe Wing Stadium show did a terrible 5.1% rating. 38.8% or nearly 39% of TV audiences in Japan watched MMA, putting the whole MMA business competitive with NHK's show overall.

-

Almost 40 % of the TV Audiences in Japan watched MMA-fighting during New Years Eve hehe. Too bad about Inoki "The Chin"'s Show tho that did 5.1 %!

For those that dont have BitTorrent or EMule and want to see the Sapp Akebono fight!!!

It's funny though, back in the days, we had Jiu Jitsu.

Now we have all kinds of Jiu Jitsu. Japanese Jiu Jitsu with their different schools, European/American styles of Jiu Jitsu(The Durewall System to name one!), and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Gracie Jiu Jitsu!

Thats a lot of Jitsus! :D BJJ, GJJ, JJJ etc etc
