I am amazed how many people think beastlords can solo efficently at the high end LOL :)

Solo yes, efficiently ...not without a little help.

Your forget to mention the VOQ, Viture ect... that is required to solo.(unless you like 20min med breaks) A necro is more of a self sufficient soloing machine. They don't need dick to solo where a druid or wizard requires VOQ.

Beastlord is a very versitle class but like the bard we are masters of nothing. If you like utility, which most people find they do, the beastlord is a fine choice.

Just don't choose a Val Shir, too trendy.

If your thinking about a beastlord check out this website http://www.eqbeastlord.com

Then between a beastlord and necro a beastlord is a bit more group friendly.

WTD sooooooo cool though :)

I maintain that Beastlord is the best option. It offers the widest range of playability of any class, short of bards, really. Your good soloing your entire career, you are useful at raids, and short of healing you can fill any role in a group. Having played one up to 58, I have to say they are the most low maintenance class to play, in terms of gearing and spell costs. For the guy who complained about needing VoQ all the time, thats true of any class with a mana bar (except Necros and SKs) but the difference is you ALSO have extra mana regen on demand that stacks with it, for no strings attatched.
War is an option whose time has passed. Peace is the only option for the future. At present we occupy a treacherous no-man's-land between peace and war, a time of growing fear that our military might has expanded beyond our capacity to control it and our political differences widened beyond our ability to bridge them. . . .

Short of changing human nature, therefore, the only way to achieve a practical, livable peace in a world of competing nations is to take the profit out of war.
--RICHARD M. NIXON, "REAL PEACE" (1983)

"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired, represents, in the final analysis, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children."

Beastlords... what can I say. I play one. It is my Main and has been for quite some time now.

Beastlords solo. Yes, we solo... but as Voidstalker said we do not do it 'efficiently'.

There are 3 ways to play a beastlord.

1: Hit Point/Tank Whore
2: Pet Cleric
3: Balance of both

You must choose at the outset 'how' you will play. We are the only class in Everquest that has a 'choice' of how we play our character.

If you choose option #1. You are planning on being a Raider or you plan to get down and dirty with the Warder beating the mob down before it beats you down.
If you choose option #2: You are planning on being a long time soloer. You will be playing sit down, stand, heal Warder, pop in to combat for a round or 2 to help dish the damge then back out. Rinse/Repeat.
If you choose option #3. You are bisexual and dont know if you like the cock or the poosae. Recommend you take your own life.

Constant canni, while giving you something to do other than sit on your ass, is not really as efficient as VoQ or lich/taps.

I'd say the reluctance is warranted. Most necros don't know how to play the class outside of fear/aggro kiting in outdoor zones.

IMO Necros are better pullers in exp groups than Bards or Monks. Only class that doesn't lose DPS when pulling.

Agreed. As with most character classes, necros are fairly easy to play, but tough to play really well. Coupled with the fact that most necros spend the majority of their lives soloing, the result is a surplus of clueless necros. As much as I love the class, I'm always very wary of grouping a necro that I don't know.

<3 my necro. <3 <3 <3. I have no troubles getting groups. DPS is there, can CC in guk/mm for a change of pace. Soloing is easy as hell and efficient even though I have stopped since I maxxed out my exp and AAs. Even with not the best gear you are a bad motherfucker at all levels. Get yourself a prenerf CoS tho, they are a godsend. Oh and be iksar, regen owns.

i don't "constant canni" and i am able to debuff/slow mobs, heal group members, rebuff and add some DPS. i have FT 2 if you were wondering.

Sounds like you're semi-idle to me.. however, I should have known that when you said "I need not VoQ" that was because of playstyle considerations.

When people say "everyone needs VoQ" they mean everyone that spends mana as fast as possible to get mobs dead as fast as possible =p

Letania Kooky quit at Luclin, I doubt she intends to go full bore to 65. Sounds to me like she just wants to smack down old world stuff in a non raiding atmosphere and have some lower level fun with a friend.

If that's the case then Necro SK will make a pretty strong pair I think.

Hmm... I think you aren't quite comprehending a couple things. First, you should research context. In this particular case, you are doing what I would call taking something "out of context".

The second thing, is this little line in the post you quoted.
money is relative on a scale of how much of it you have. my time is worth more than that; mostly because I know a lot of high level people but don't know anyone that would want to level with me.
Now, by itself (or "out of context") that doesn't really help to show what a douchebag you're being. But when you couple it with this little line from the original post in this thread
okay so I'm starting a new character with some friends but I haven't played since the beginning of Luclin.
it becomes quite clear. Relatively speaking, her money is worth more than the boredom created by levelling up alone. She found some people to level up with, thus negating one of the conditions that makes her time worth more than levelling up her own character. Please try harder to keep up.

Exactly which part of that was remotely close to "I know you are but what am I?" It may be arguable that I used the "Well, hypocrite, if I am then we both are" comeback, but it was a bit more complex than that.

We should probably just stop this argument right now. In a battle of Cartalas vs. Anyone, Cartalas is never going to win.

Dare I involve myself in this thread...

I had wondered why a two week old thread had been bumped to the top. Generally that's either done by someone who doesn't post here often or by someone who is devoid of intelligence. Then I saw it was Atokal, and it was all clear.
