What do you do when you get bored at work besides posting on message boards?

Eat unhealthy snack food.
Make phone calls.
Intersperse a hectic web-browsing schedule with long email discussions.
Spread insurrection among my co-workers.
Flirt with the ladies.
Concoct amusing phrases like 'daft trollop'.

Man it's a chore working out ones notice. Two more days to go.

Jayne: Good. Cause I don't know these folks, don't much care to.

I've taken to reading philosophy. Most of the books are large, hardcover ones, so they can easily pass as technical manuals, which I'm supposed to be reading.
"There is at least as much need to curb the cruel greed and arrogance of part of the world of capital, to curb the cruel greed and violence of part of the world of labor, as to check a cruel and unhealthy militarism in international relationships." -Theodore Roosevelt

IMs when bored. I use Trillian for IMing, allows me to use AIM, MSN, ICQ, IRC and Yahoo all through one interface with customizable skins.

I'm usually moderately busy at work, but a good portion of my time is spent waiting for things to happen.

Reading 2-3 boards and bugging the wife on the phone fills up the gaps.

Chat on AIM/Yahoo/MSN, or go to http://www.bash.org and read a few quotes. Anything to help pass the time that makes me look like I'm using my computer to work.

For myself i usually look at the ceilling, listen to winamp, i used to also go chat on mirc but they didnt like that.. so i stoped. I only use mirc to go download some mp3 albums from #punkmp3 on undernet..

They got those xdcc server bots with shitloads of nice albums that spits out wicked bandwidth.. I also have msn messenger, i started my own portfolio website.. (about fucking time, im just a lazzy bastard...) http://alexfolio.tripod.ca/default.html (i just did the first part of the flash intro for the site! on my lunch break... nothing fancy)

Anyways, i always have nothing to do in between projetcs. Just trying to keep myself busy so the day goes on faster!!

Heh... when I was bored at work I'd sleep. I was a net tech this last summer, so when bored, I'd simply lean my head back in the chair and pass out. Usually it was like at 3AM when this would happen since I worked such odd fucking hours. God I'm glad I'm out of that job.

Yeah i used to work for a tech support company for dsl users..

we used to call those kind of shitfs graveyard shifts..

you come in at midnight and you leave at 8 am..

Those shifts were hard to deal with... i prefer my sleep during the night not during the day.

I pretty much sleep under my desk, play spades or first person shooter games with my boss or smoke a ciggie in one of three exits (gotta vary it up so ya can meet different people)

*wishes he could masturbate at work*

I am one of two IT people in my company so I can download all the porn I want really. But I don't. Just don't want to take that chance of the prez walking in to ask me to explain the squiggly green lines under his text in Word, and having him catch me (looking at porn, not masturbating).

If I am not surfing or studying some coding books, I might actually be helping fix something. Mostly it is the surfing and reading.

I dropped the old man in 4. It's important to remeber that when beating up the elderly, you concentrate on offense. I admit he knocked me down twice and it coulda gone either way. It was very much like the RL fight I had with an elderly woman last week. However, I wasn't as fortunate in that case...

I read movie scripts. Lots and lots of them! :) Here is a good link.

http://www.joblo.com

Click on the Scripts link and he has a ton of em :)

A little work trick is to put the script in MS Word and shrink the window to fit in Outlook preview-pane so it looks like an email ;)
