Search engine problem

Post by Chidoro »

For some reason, I have this alternate search engine come up when I type in the url for msn or yahoo. The message on the bottom reads like this :
Unfortunately, we don't know how to solve your problem. This is not the first complaint on this matter.Our Search Engine is advertised by hundreds of webmasters, and we cannot control everyone. If the url of our SE was non-authorized set on your pc, please report us the url of the page where it happened.
support@royalsearch.net
Usage of harmful software for advertising our SE is prohibited(Terms and Conditions 4.1.5) The webmaster, which advertised our SE with such software would be deleted from our base with no payouts.
Report your problem with more details and we will try to help you. support@royalsearch.net
Best Regards.

to remove this, try to use this freeware soft - HijackThis or search in registry for suspicious .exe, .js, .hta, .vbs here:
Start->Run->regedit
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
or (and)
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
Total bullshit. It fucking sucks that they can rogue in something in like that. Aside from trying their software download which I would be HIGHLY suspect of, is there any way to get in there and get this bullshit off?

VBS.Bootconf is a Trojan Horse that modifies the TCP/IP settings to point to a different address. It also changes the Internet Explorer home page and search page to connect to http://www.royalsearch.net.

Gorjah's got teh virtual clap! :lol:

Run the Symantec fix and then pick up a copy of Ad-Aware 6.0. Run it from time to time to clean out all those tracking cookies and ninja programs that are installed by websites.
