In the time-honored tradition of fixing things that aren't broken, beans will now share company with other notable improvements to our way of life such as 'Born on Dates', and 'the green colored pebbles in fruity pebbles' (damn you Post Cereal!!!). I personally wasn't aware that there was a problem with the self-image of beans, but apparently there was, and a large group of farmers is willing to spend $250,000 to correct that *cough* problem. I'm not sure who I find more annoying, the farmers for concocting this campaign, or CNN for reporting on it!

"We've all heard those amusing little ditties thrown about at the expense of our poor, humble beans," said Gary Friskop, president of Northarvest Bean Growers Association. "It's time for us to stand up and defend our beans."
On a final note, to the farmers pimping the sign that reads, 'Without beans, chili would be just a bowl of meat!'
So?
