Writers

Post by Fesuni Chopsui »

This is a poll to see if the members of this community would like to see either a new forum be created or be added to an existing forum for writers. In other words, a place for people to come and post their writing for both entertainment value as well as a medium for writers to have their work commented on..

IF YOU ARE A WRITER...PLEASE POST HERE IF YOU PLAN TO ACTUALLY INCLUDE YOUR WRITING IN THE PROPOSED FORUM..

In order for this to happen we need two things: A general interest from people who want to read stories as well as a general interest from writers wishing to post their work...no reason in creating a new forum where there's just going to be 5 threads heh

Thanks for your time guys

What's wrong with putting it in the reading forum?

I've never understood peoples' aversion to adding more forums. Provided people put their content in the proper forums, it makes it much easier to find/ignore posts of different types.

I'd equate it to putting your bills in a filing cabinet. Sure you could put them all in a "Bills" folder, but if you want to look for past Electric bills it'd be easier to find them in their own place. And if you were looking for Cable bills, you wouldn't have to waste your time weeding through the Electric bills.

No, I see no problem creating new forums in general. But do we have enough demand that we need to create a new one?

I meant more along the lines of...what's wrong with posting submitted writings to the reading forum. Then if there becomes enough interest and submitted writings that it takes away from the reading forum, sure then split it.

I just see it as more effecient, but I am not the authority.

If I went to the reading forum, I would be of the midset that I am reading published works, reviews of books, or discussing authors.

To me, writing is a different discipline, and deserved to be critiqued on a different level then that of published authors. The forum could be expanded to more artistic works like art, song, writing and poetry if it makes you feel better about it. I just don't think that Adventures in Reading is the best place for player submitted character stories.

Alas, I too, am not the authority.

I think it would be pretty cool. Also, this is one of the very few msg boards that folks generally put topics under the correct section...
