Stephen Lynch

I don't know how many of you are familiar with Stephen Lynch, he's a comedian who plays the guitar and sings humorous songs. I went to a show that he did in Detroit last night having never really heard of him and he was really funny. Nothing spectacular musically, though he seems to know his way around the guitar alright. I know a lot of morning radio shows play some of his songs, so you may have heard him without even knowing it. Check out one of his CD's if you like, or if he's coming live to a venue near you, check him out. I doubt you'll be disappointed, it was very entertaining.

Here are a few samples from his latest CD:
(They are NWS if your speakers are up loud, some swearing)

Best Friends Song

What if that Guy from Smashing Pumpkins Lost his Car Keys?

If I can find a bootleg of "Craig Christ" or "Gary Foster" I'll try to post them. I think they are both unreleased as of yet and had me rolling.

I've seen him quite often on the comedy channel, does a really good job of beating the censors by being both explicit and avoid swearing at the same time. Funny stuff.

He was a regular on the Opie and Anthony show going back 4-5 years now before they were syndicated then thrown off the air. Funny funny stuff as the wife and I used to always go to his shows at Caroline's whenever he played there. Special Ed, If I were gay, kill a kitten, some song about necrophelia that I forget the name of and another song that was written by another regular of O and A called Full Blown Aids.

just picked up one of his CD's and his DVD ($11 on Amazon, well worth it). Witty humor and some of his stuff is just over the top.

Dr. Stephen is awesome.

O & A is on XM radio. They have a show you have to subscribe to just in addition to the XM fee. I think it is 2 dollars and the show plays all day long.

They had a preview on the other day and without the restrictions it was really down and dirty. They played a 5 minute long tape of a girl getting done by a Black and Decker drill with a Dildo attachment. You heard everything, bad words and all.
When I was younger, I used to think that the world was doing it to me and that the world owes me some thing…When you're a teeny bopper, that's what you think. I'm 40 now, I don't think that anymore, because I found out it doesn't f--king work. One has to go through that. For the people who even bother to go through that, most assholes just accept what it is anyway and get on with it." - John Lennon

been listening to a bit of his music...is it me or is he funnier on his live recordings rather than his studio recordings?

i find his music funnier when they're live recordings myself.
