It could have something to do with the blatently LoTR name for your druid... Raise a glass for originality..

Or it could be your DirectX, or your video card, or your video drivers...

Recommendation: Install the newest drivers for your video card. The only thing EQ does between the loading window and character select is start rendering 3d models. If your video drivers are screwy, it'll crash the game. If your directx is screwy.. it'll crash the game. Other than that, RAM maybe. maybe.

Even when you buy a new comp usually the software provided with it is out of date. Always goot to check out your Manufact. website and see if theres a listing for updated drives, bios etc...

Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Command Prompt -> type: format c: /u /y

The U is for 'Update 3d Devices' and the /y is for 'Yes'

Many times, your computer will fail to connect to EQ because of a conflicting networking driver. The best thing to do would be to go into your control panel, to your networking properties panel. Then remove all of the components which might be conflicting with EQ. EQ has it's own networking drivers, so sometimes the system drivers will conflict. Not to worry, just select them all and click remove. Then reboot your system. Then log into EQ and enjoy.

You'd likely get more help if you posted in the computers/tech forum. THIS is the WRONG forum for this type of post.
