5 outs away
5 outs away
The Cubs, 5 outs away.. blown a number of times by their manager, once by the shorstop, twice by Farnsworth....ugh
The Red Sox 5 outs away. NO WAY IN FUCKING HELL should Pedro have been on the mound to face Matsui. Much less Posada.
terrible managing in both series.
the players deserved better, and it should have been Cubs v. Red Sox. But hey, the Yankees and Marlins both never quit. Their players sucked it up and really did the job.
Grady Little should be fired before he leaves the Bronx. He is terrible.

don't know if you guys noticed the pitch that Wakefield threw to Boone.
He threw him a 1st pitch CURVEBALL.
watch the grip in his glove on the replay. It was not a knuckler, and he got pwned.
sheesh...
pinch running for Varitek and Ortiz against Rivera? that is stupid two. Removing two of your kickass sticks, managing against Rivera is all about not giving up runs until he is out of the game.
I am faxing my resume to the Red Sox tomorrow!!!

Seriously i am right with you. My stomach churned when those guys were taken out. Varitek is our get-it-started guy. He is at the heart of those big late inning rallies, and who came up to the plate in his spot? Doug Mirabelli who struck out MISERABLY against Rivera. I like Mirabelli, but that was not even close to a good at bat.pinch running for Varitek and Ortiz against Rivera? that is stupid two. Ortiz hit that HUGE homerun to give the sox their 5th run, without that shot it was over in 9. LEAVE THE OFFENSE IN WE NEEDED ALL WE COULD GET.
I jumped up yelling at my TV for Embree to come in to face Matsui. What the fuck was Grady thinking pushing Pedro over 115 pitches? I dont care if he is "your man" he did his job and it was time for the bullpen to do theirs.
It was depressing seeing Rivera come in for a 3rd inning. I was praying that he'd go his usual two and the yanks would take him out, but sadly that wasnt the case. If we could have held them off through Rivera's innings we could have tee'd off on anyone else in their bullpen.
Pedro should have gone the 7, maybe *MAYBE* faced the lead off right handed batter in the 8th at most. Either way (out or not) Embree should have been ready to go against Matsui, and then it should have been Timlin to finish the job in the 8th. Williamson comes in for the 9th and does his thing game over sox fans arent hanging themselves in the streets of Boston tonight. It worked alll through the playoffs, why the fuck would you leave Pedro in and change what got you there to begin with? Grady's motto was stick with what works...where the fuck was that when it counted most?
AND WHY...OH WHY COULDNT IT BE THE TIGERS?! ANYONE BUT THE FUCKING YANKEES.
Before the 8th, i was king of the world. Then i got hit by a bigfuckingtrain and now my worst enemy took the crown off my flattened corpse and pissed on me. What a rollercoaster this has been...

Yeah, that's what I was thinking when it was showing all the fans in the stands who were so sad at the thought of losing. OH NOS WE MIGHT LOSE WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?Zamtuk wrote:Yeah, like oh wow another fucking championship for the yankees woo fucking hoo!
You shoulda heard me yelling at the TV for them to take Pedro out in the 8th before that rally got out of hand. Raistin can tell you all about it when he is unbanned. Wakefield should have come on then, instead of in the 11th.
I hope the Marlins beat the Yankees, but I'm not holding my breath and I won't be watching the Series.

From my perspective, I don't really care who wins the world series. The fun is the utter bitterness of boston fans because it was ny that did it. Funny, I'd probably have been rooting for boston if they were playing seattle or some shit. But because the "rivalry" is so bitter between the two teams even though one team piles on success after success while the other chokes in some way shape or form year after year, makes it all the more enjoyable. Add in that the hero of the game was an utter nobody facing an utter monster makes it all the more entertaining.
Hell of a game from a tension standpoint I have to say. I never gave two shits about baseball but this was a pretty damn entertaining week.

Or maybe oh wow 50k vv's for me..
cough um up punk!

That was by far, one of the best, if not the best game I've ever seen. My throat is sore today after all the screaming and cheering I did last night when I watched that ball sail out of the stadium.
Timmah.

Yes because throwing money around has always=success. Ohh wait, it never does unless the team is a cohesive unit.Deward wrote:Big fucking deal. So the yankees bought their way into another world series. The worst part is having to sit through another 7 games and missing Simpsons on Sunday night. Thank god for football!!!
So you can go and pop in a dvd of the 7 billion simpsons episodes while sitting in a corner rocking back and forth in your own feces awaiting sunday's arrival

I hope and pray the Braves get sold to someone who has pockets like Steinbrenner and throw cash at everyone they feel like having. Maybe next year they can have Lopez at 1st, Giles at 2nd, Furcal at SS, Jones at 3rd, Sheffield, Jones, and Vlad Guerero in the OF, Estrada catching with a rotation of Ortiz, Hampton, Colon, Millwood, and Vasquez.
I would actually just settle for seeing Roberto Hernandez and Ray "Burger" King have their right arms amputated live on WTBS....or even Bobby Cox appear on live TV wearing a shirt that says "My owners bought Georgia and all I got was this lousy pitching staff."

There's a difference between doing it for a handful of players and doing it for half your team.Soreali wrote:Voronwë wrote:sure money isnt the only thing. but it allows you the flexibility to continue to throw bodies into a 'hole' into you get a fit. and that is what they did.
Oh yeah because you know the Sox only paid a couple mil for Manny..
Give me a fucking break.
