YAY!!! The NHL is back in action!!!
YAY!!! The NHL is back in action!!!
Been looking forward to this for a while...
lot of attention focused on Detroit: can they solve the goaltending woes with Hasek back? Where will Cujo end up?
Will anyone be able to stop the upgraded Colorado offense? How will the Avs replace Roy?
Will Vancouver be able to turn the corner and become a true contender? Or will they be haunted by last season's playoff disappointment?
Can New Jersey fend off the challengers in the East?
Will the NY Rangers actually make the playoffs or will Glen Sather walk the plank? Will Lindros last the season? Is Bure finished?
Can Jagr regain his touch and lead the Capitals out of mediocrity?
What will be Mike Milbury's next target for his outbursts?
Will the Ducks be able to build off the playoff sucess of last season or were they a flash in the pan?
Will the Leafs continue to be over-rated also-rans or can they become the team the Toronto media has proclaimed them to be?
Will Dallas be able to trade Pierre Turgeon?
Will the Sabres and Senators be better with new ownerships?
Will the Penguins be able to survive past what is believed to be Mario's last year?
Will the NHL and the NHLPA be able to make a deal and avoid a lockout for next season?
So many questions and 82 regular season games to find some answers!
BTW, early pick: Colorado will win the Stanley Cup in 5 games over Ottawa.

I'm gonna say Detroit this year, and not just cause I'm a Wings fan.
I think their defense is going to be fan-tab-u-lous. Hatcher, Schneider, Lidstrom, Chelios, Fischer and Dandenault? SCARY! Plus they have two 8 million dollar a year goalies and the leagues best backup. They better win.
Also, I am looking forward to when Detroit plays Anaheim. Should be interesting.

Blue Jackets dont win anything until they get some better uniforms. Sheesh.
Boston will .. well .. you know ... still draw like mad, maybe make the playoffs, make a quick exit, and Mr Jacobs will be a few million richer.
Colorado is going to win it all, I think. And, why not, over Jersey, in 6.

Hey its ok if they SUCK worse than athe oakland Raiders this year. They are still MY team and I'll go to 4-5 games regaurldless.
I hate to say it it but I think it will be Detroit this season. I havnt watched but a couple games , but I know what I saw with them , Wings could pull it off nicely
Wings 4-2 in the cup

Don't fret, he'll be back sooner than that (hockey players r tuff, rawr) and I'm sure we'll hold up well enough without him. Disappointing that we won't get to really see him in action for a while though.Xouqoa wrote:ARRRRGH, Hatcher is out with a torn ACL. Yay 6 months IR!
I wanted to see him play against the wussy NY Rangers. Going to that game Oct. 25. =D
Going to the Wings vs. Columbus game tonight, yay!
