Birth Control Pill
This question is for the ladies...
I was recently in an argument with someone over whether or not going on the pill can cause a change in the size of a woman's breasts. I swear I remember more than one girl telling me that when they went on the pill, their boobs got bigger, but the person I was just arguing with told me I was smoking crack. Can anyone confirm or deny my belief? Obviously, I don't think it does that to everyone that takes it, otherwise they'd call them miracle pills, but I swear I've heard that was one possible side effect.

Not only can they grow initially, but if one takes two packets in a row they will swell for the second month. This is true of my fiancee, who will take two in a row when we have been apart and we get together at that time of the month. Neither of us have noticed any effect on her bum, so I can't confirm that.
Well side effects from taking a BCP varies pretty wildly from woman to woman.
However, water retention is one of the most common side effects, and a lot of women tend to retain water in their breasts (also ass, hips, ankles and thighs). There are other side effects like headaches and cramps, weight loss (or gain), bleeding etc. etc. I know some girls who can't take the pill at all because it makes them miserable.
So yeah taking the pill can make a girl's breasts grow larger. Fortunately I never really had any side effects from mine.
Seasonale just got approved by the FDA and should be out soon. Apparently it has a lot less side effects and it changes a woman's menstrual cycle to have only 3-4 periods a year instead of 12.

Interesting. Would that then lead to the possibility of women being fertile later into their lives? It's been a long time since sex ed or biology classes, but if I remember correctly, there is a finite number of eggs that a woman produces. Would reducing the number of menstrual cycles per year extend how many years they would last?kyoukan wrote:Seasonale just got approved by the FDA and should be out soon. The female body produces more eggs than you could ever 'use up.' The reason women can't have children when they're older is due to menopause, which causes them to stop ovulating. My half-sister is going through menopause now, and she's only 30 (hooray for the weird things nature does to people), so menopause doesn't have anything to do with how many eggs you have left.Sylvus wrote:Interesting. The reason to have less periods per year is to reduce the risk of certain cancers like uterine cancer (it might only be uterine cancer and not, say, cervical cancer, really can't remember). I know there was a study done on that not too long ago, and that was the finding.
I thought some doctors recommended taking regular birth control pills such that you'd only have 3-4 periods a year, but maybe I'm wrong. In any case, that's a nice development IMO.

WTF you left out the other half of the argument!Sylvus wrote:I was recently in an argument with someone over whether or not going on the pill can cause a change in the size of a woman's breasts.
I know of women who have had various reactions to b/c pills, and it does vary greatly from woman to woman. I'm sure in some rare occurances, it can cause boobs to increase in size. However, the topic was Britney Spears, and I really don't think birth control pills are to blame (as you suggested) for her cup-size fluctuation.
Most have probably seen this, but it sums it up far better than I can. (*Might* not be work safe)

Feh! I left that out of this topic on purpose. I don't actually think that is the cause, I just proposed it as a *possible* cause. I still say her boobs are real.Kaelina wrote:However, the topic was Britney Spears, and I really don't think birth control pills are to blame (as you suggested) for her cup-size fluctuation.
At any rate, thank you, ladies, for your input. Who would have thought that I could bone up on my knowledge of the female reproductive system on VV of all places. =)

Some women take birth control pills non stop and only menstruate once per year. In fact one of the doctors that was working on Seasonale claimed that by using regular BCP without stopping she hasn't had a period in years and there was nothing wrong with her at all.
It's pretty much common knowledge that Britney Spears had breast implants at a very young age. There was controversy over it because her father let her get breast implants at the age of 16 or 17 because her record producers encouraged them to get it done (she was as flat as a board).

Common knowledge or common speculation? I was aware that there were rumors, but I hadn't ever heard anything definitive on it. Not that it really matters, but the link that Kaelina posted is odd because she definitely seems bigger in the past than she does recently. If she had gotten implants, I wonder if she traded them in for smaller or had them removed altogether. That's what made me think that they were unsubstantiated rumors.kyoukan wrote:It's pretty much common knowledge that Britney Spears had breast implants at a very young age. Yeah you are only going to get so much love out of a push-up bra. The fact she went up 3 cup sizes in like a week in between going in to the hospital for a "knee operation" doesn't really leave a whole ton of room for speculation.
I mean yeah maybe a side effect of the medication from getting her "knee" operated on was a massive overnight increase in breast size, or maybe she just got implants.

Isn't there another side effect of BC pills? I heard they can help with acne problems as well.
As for Spears boobs....who cares? They looked good at all sizes, even A-cup in the video. The only issue is if she has frankenstein style scars because of all the changes.
You kinda have to wonder if there isn't something medically wrong with her breasts. There is no logical reason you would switch around like that unless there were some cancer or leakage or something.
I saw a thing on cable about boob implants and this one chick got some infection in there after her first boob job somewhere in Florida because Florida has a lot of unliscenced plastic surgeons etc (And that's where Brittney is right? Although I assume she would not be bargain shopping for tits).
Anyway they kept pulling out more and more breast tissue to try and get rid of the infection. They showed her tits after Mr. Frakenstein was done with his work, it was horrible. She had like two empty sacks all hanging down and lopsided with scars, I felt bad for her. Eventually she had them re-constructed by someone else.
But maybe something similar happened with Brittney, where they medically had to remove tissue and re-build them?

Brittney does not need any boob work with an ass like that. Give me that junk in the trunk!
A semi-serious question for the ladies....If you do only have say 2 or 3 periods a year, does the PMS only occur during the time before those 3 periods or is the body still getting some hormonal changes every 4 weeks that still would cause that?

Yes and no, that any surgeon in FL can do plastic surgery is the problem, not that they are unlicensed. We don't have a board\cert for it like many (most?) states do. Fake boobs and noses are apparently much better money makers than "regular" surgery.Pilsburry wrote:because Florida has a lot of unliscenced plastic surgeons

My wife has been on birth control for over 4 years. Her boobs have never gotten any bigger
Her mood swings are almost non-existent though and they were pretty bad before she went on the pill. Her ass never got any bigger either and she claims that her cramps aren't nearly as bad as they once were.
Her sister has been on the pill since she was like 13. Doctors prescribed it to help her with her acne problem.
As for britney, I think she is using those pump boobs. Doctors implant a pump in the armpit and when you pump your arm the right way then it blows them up. They aren't really common as far as I know but I met a girl in a bar that had them. Kind of cool watching her boobs grow.

I went for 3 years without having one. I didnt get the PMS till I had it but I still went through cramps every month. It was horrible when my doctor had to enduce it because i lost so much blood, I almost had to have a blood transfusion. I was in the hospital and everything. Thats why im on BC now. They had to get my periods regular or I wouldnt be able to have children. And yes BC does help clear up acne, or so Ive been told.Kilmoll the Sexy wrote:Brittney does not need any boob work with an ass like that. Give me that junk in the trunk!

Wondering about that one myself. It does not seem real but still, it might be interesting.Laliana wrote:WTF!?Deward wrote:Doctors implant a pump in the armpit and when you pump your arm the right way then it blows them up. I've heard of inflatable boobs existing. I'm not going to do a wide search but here is one that can be altered for up to 6 months.
http://www.topdocs.com/Adjustablebreastimplants.htm
I think they mean saline there, I didn't fully read it, just skimmed. I have heard of air based ones.
I'm not sure how realistic tits would feel if they were filled with air, kinda more like balloons then tits I think.
Also I'm sure reducing breast size by deflating an implant would cause some "less then perky" end results.
