Last nights Cali debates

Post by Krimson Klaw »

Was a riot.

Huffington looked so rediculous as she spent most of her time trying to bash Arnold and Bush, which ended up overshadowing the few good points she happened to make. Another thing, she only has 1% at the polls? Why was she even there? I especially liked her closing speach. 'California needs a mother figure'. Ok, sex card played and point taken, next?

Bustamonte (sp) was the only candidate up there that lacked charisma. I swear I thought he sounded like Mr Snuffle-ufigus from Sesame Street when he spoke. 'Just aaask them Arnold, they'll tell ya.....I created the Bill...all ya have to do is aask'...ZzzZZzzzz....did he say something? And what was with him saying 'on that I agree' every 20 seconds when another candidate was speaking. We got it already, you agree with everyone elses good points, kindly step off of their bandwagon now and make some original ideas of your own, thanks.

Arnold spent half of his time defending himself and getting catchy one liners to repel Huffington who was making him look like he was all across the board on the whole imigration issue. I agree with how he is going to bring businesses back to California however, and taxing (Busta-boring, Huffington) is not going to do it. To quote the infamous P-diddy. 'I like a little bit of a cocky swagger, I don't like a lot of it'. Arnold was bordering on being too cocky last night, that may turn some voters off.

Mcclintock was in rare form, well spoken, and stuck to his guns on all topics. Nuff said, much to the dismay of the plants in the audience hoopin' and holerin' every time Huffington cleared her throat.

Green party dude, I don't really remember much of anything he said, just remember he was pretty even keel across the board imo.

It makes absolutely no difference which one of them gets elected. Without returning to pre-dot com boom spending levels (for starters), CA is screwed.

This isn't a short term issue. Once you chase a business out of a state, they aren't coming back. Moving anything beyond a Mom & Pop business is incredibly expensive. You have to start with new businesses, and that takes a long time to build momentum.

It can take a long time but there are incentives given to companies in order to revitalize a market. Jersey City is doing it currently and there are skyscapers popping up all around there now. The number of employees by the end of 2004 will be double the amount of employees in the middle of 2001. Now it's not quite the same thing for an entire state, but there can be incentives pushed in that make it ridiculously attractive to move

If I remember right, New jersey also has some of the most corporation friendly laws of the country. I was looking at them when I was studying incorporation laws. They make it really easy to do business there.

I didn't get to watch much of the debate last night. The little I did see was of that bitch Huffington trying to bait Arnold. She is such a hypocritical bitch. Some people just rub me the wrong way. Whenever she talks it is like she is saying one thing and sharpening a knife behind her back.

Bustamente is a crook just liek the other life-long politicians. He is actually a member of a society that says the southwest U.S. should be given back to mexico and the hispanics. Thankfully most of the people that like him can't actually vote for him. I could see a lot of dead votes come his way though.

I like Arnold. Sure he doesn't have a lot of experience but he has a lot of amazing people helping him out. Governor is not a solitary job. You are just a figurehead for those that are working for you. Whoever does get teh job is in for a lot of bullshit with that California economy and they probably won't be elected to a second term.

Dammit,

I want to see SNL do a skit where they're all debating and Arnold just jumps up, rips his suit off, grabs a flag pole and proceeds to go Conan on his opposition.

I demand Comedy given this ripe situation!

I thought my boy Tom did a kick ass job, he didnt fucking interupt every 14 seconds like everyone else did, came off classy IMHO. I am behind him and agree with 90% of what he says. Arnold did OK, but knowing every question being thrown out to them turned me off. And this, ofcourse, is the only debate he will be doing. Something stinks.....

I fucking hate Cruz Bustamante. Like Davis, the man represents everything that politician ideally shouldn't be. He wants to be governor purely to benefit himself and he is an absolute slave to anyone with a check book. He's also a liar and a scum bag. It's too bad he's probably going to win while the GOP splits their vote between Arnold and McClintock.

I am desperately trying to work up an "I care" about the governor of California, and not living there I cannot seem to do it.

Not even living in that region it means even less, and since a governor has very little impact on national issues, unless they just randomly make dumbass statements to the press, who really cares.

Can anyone here, without going to google, or being from Iowa tell me who the governor is?

Hell off hand I can name the Cali, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan and New York governors. But beyond that they have zero impact on me.

The Cali governor does impact you, because a huge chunk of the American prosperity and recovery rides on Cali's economics. You should care.

You know, my home town that I am returning to, became so fucked up financially that the state took over, and forced a third party administrator on the city.

I think Cali needs the same, but the deal is that unless we get the Swiss to do it, who is going to be squared away enough?

Short of this, when Cali suffers, industry leaves, when industry leaves it moves partially overseas (which it would probably have anyway) or to another state, which I would not mind. I understand the rising tide concept, but do you really think whoever is elected governor of California is going to make enough of a difference one way or the other in the course of the state?

Their goal is to try, and they need support. Why toss up your hands and concede economic defeat? Don't you think it's time to give optimism a chance?

Oh I realize this KK, (Heh that is one short of being ironic) but I do not think a single individual in a statewide government CAN fix things, it takes a glacial shift over time of the legislators, the judicial, and the executive branch. Really they are only electing a figurehead.

My opinion

Tom was the best at the debate...he had his shit down and I like the fact he will keep his promise and not bow out...This man is an honorble man he made a promise and he will stick by it, but I hope many of his voters unless he gets close in the polls relize this is a Ross Perot or a Ralph Nader situation for Cali's sake dont let Bustamoney win..... It wasnt his policy's that got Cali in the state it is now. I agree with him on policy's more than any of the others....The only draw back I personally have is Im not sure on his leadership skills. Im not from Cali. so I really dont know the history well enough. Leadership is what they need more than anything to turn things around I dont know if he has that or not I dont know enough info...*shrug*.

The green party guy was really good too even though I disagree with about 80% of what he said....But he knew what he was talking about from his view point which is very respectable. Im a conservative republican/libertarian type and I thought this guy was respectable to listen too. Thats what this party needs to grow.

Huffinagain sucked she is just a spoiler and a loud mouth she really should of not been allowed to the debate plus her voice is great for about 2min but just very annoying after 10min and made me want to turn it off at times because she had to say something ever 2 seconds. Sorta like that stupid character in Star Wars the phantom menace. Ill never watch that one again but the others Ill watch over and over.

Busta"money" sucked he agreed to others half the time. And I fell asleep everytime he spoke. There is just no energy coming from him, he has the charisma of a troll or ogre. His group takes most the cake for the state Cali's in atm and really hope for Cali's future and the Country's he doesnt get elected.

AHRNOLD was pretty good.......He was on the verge of being alittle too cocky, but I dont think too much. I like that he grabbed some of the best and brightest from both sides to work together...To me that shows he has great leadership skills which is what Cali needs more than anything to get it back on track. Gov./Pres./leader to me is best with how and who he surrounds himself with. The guy has a ton of energy which I like. I wish Tom and Ahrnold were the same...Toms character and brains with Ahrnolds charisma and energy and command of any situation hes in. He seems like a pure leader to me in whatever he does...shoot hes lead everything hes been in to the best of its profession...would be intresting to see if he could do it in government as well....Maybe he would be one these special leaders for the people and who has a administration with brains..sorta like a Ronald R., FDR and my favorite "Teddy" Roosevelt type.

The entire election means jack and shit to me because:

1) I can't vote in California.
2) The Governor does not have as much power as their state congress.
3) I can't vote in California.
4) Politicians all suck no matter what party they are affiliated with.
5) I can't vote in California, so it watching all their little debates and whatnot means zero to me. I could be the most informed motherfucker on the planet about California and its issues, but it doesn't matter. Why?
6) I can't fuckign vote in a California election.

That Cruz Bustamente(sp, who fucking cares) reminds me of a cocaine kingpin...Huffington is a moron...all the indy peeps are short bussers.

Arnold actually made some decent points, he would have my vote if I were not fleeing this lameass state.

Who was the one saying that illegals were a part of CA economy?? Good lord, I guess they are...if you count REAL Americans paying for their sorry asses to be here... tell you what.. I am running for Gov. of CA.

FUCK ILLEGALS!!!! FUCK THEM REAL GOOD!

Now, to the point...this is quite interesting really. Is someone who does not want rights for illegal aliens a racist?

Obviously, this is indeed an issue in California.

OK, so 99.9% of illegals in CA are from Central America. Let's get that one up front. Now, does a person who wants illegals out of CA a Mexican hater? I think not. People that are here legally, are citizens, or almost-citizens of this great country...people that have every right to be here, under law.

One of our greatest strengths as a country is having a mish mash of people--we have EVERYONE here, and that is pretty fucking amazing and good IMO.

Now, this giant mish mash of people(AKA USA) has prospered and continues to do so despite random hard times.

As a country, we accept all....as long as certain things are passed...not very hard tests for the folks that truly want to be a citizen... history, ethics, etc..

So, as Americans, do we want people sucking our tax dollars away so they can leech jobs, tax dollars away?? I think not. Californians are not stupid...just a little mislead by the liberal influence... hug a tree..embrace an illegal, etc...

It gets irritating, but CA is indeed irritating(if you live in LA, you can certainly understand irritating).

America would not be what it is today without a melting pot of cultures, races, beliefs... However, those here that do not wish to be here on America's rules, should be banished. If that makes me racist, than so be it. I work my ass off to live here and be amongst other Americans... I will not stand for some asshole living here illegally.

They are not taking jobs away, they are only filling the void of jobs that other Americans think they are 'too good' to do anyway, and working hard at those jobs. They should stand in line to get into this country like everyone else, on the record. Off the record, I would cross over illegally as well, my family comes first, Screw that millionaire store owner that says I have to stand in a 50 mile line to buy groceries when my child is starving, I'm taking the back door.
