Lain

Post by Searyx »

If you like anime, you owe it to yourself to see Lain. It is by far the best animated series I have ever seen, and I've seen quite a few.

Yes. It is even better than Record of Lodoss War.

I've found that the best way to sell Lain is to show people the opening credits. That seems to be incentive enough to get them to watch the whole set :)

FYI, the song is in English in both subtitled and dubbed formats.

Is it better than Ranma 1/2? I find that hard to believe!

I like it.. it's one of the first series I ever saw though. (Aside from the stuff I grew up with.)

It's silly, and not as well drawn as say, NG:E - but it's pretty well written and is entertaining.

Everytime I hear Kenshin say "Orrooooo" I can't help but laugh :D

By the way, did you ever get a chance to download the Kenshin&Misato.avi? I'm pretty sure you'll find it funny, with or without knowledge of the Rurouni Kenshin universe.

Is the audio working for you guys? If it's not, you may need the codec. I used a high quality audio encoder for the Lain scene, since it contains mostly music.

Click Here for NCT ALF2 CD Audio Codec 2.01

If the video isn't working, you'll need to download the Divx 5.02 codec.

<---Old School Akira Fan.

Personally I liked Key The Metal Idol. A bit of a let down but still cool.

Lain was good only have the first DVD so I can't compare.

Personally the best Anime I've seen would have to be Onegai Teacher.
Lain was interesting but the style was like the last episodes of Evangelion.
Really freaking odd.

Lain wasn't bad, but it wasn't something I'd go and watch again. Later episodes I just started falling asleep toward the end of them.

Regarding the Lain.avi clip that I posted, I just finished redoing it. It looks better, sounds better, and is more compact than its ancestor.

Illegal software = UBER

Oh yeah. The new version does NOT require the audio codec that I posted.

Side Note: Anyone remember the quote in my old sig?
I am falling, I am fading,
I am drowning, Help me to breathe...
I am hurting, I have lost it all,
I am losing, Help me to breathe!
The song where that quote originated is from Lain, and it so happens that that is the song that I have posted above.
