Yah their defense rules, no question about it. Their offense wasn't that impressive, basicly got lucky on both TDs..

That defense and offense kept animale from beating me this week. I squeaked away with the win by less than a point.

If you think those TD catches were luck, then you have a lot to learn about football. Joe J. is a professional, and he has proven it dozens of times, and did it yet again. THOSE WERE SKILL PLAYS.

I'll grant that their offense isn't the best or most fun to watch, but they are efficient. In fact, they looked much better than the beginning of last year.

Tampa Bay does look good.....they will look even better this year since they don't have the Steelers coming in to kick their ass all over their own turf again. Good move by the schedule makers. Paper champions indeed.

Pittsburg @ Kansas City this weekend, should be an awesome game. I'm playing against the guy with Priest Holmes in my fantasy league, so I gotta root for the Steelers D.

Yeah and even professionals have luck. When the difference between a catch and out of bounds is an inch, you have some luck. It is skill that made him keep both feet down, it is luck that his toes weren't out of bounds. And please, that tip might as well have gone slightly differently.

If you don't think professional athletes sometimes rely on luxk you are on crack. Let's use Formula 1 qualifications as an example: The closest I have seen two of the drivers qualify is 3/1000s of a second. It's skill that gets them around that fast (some of the best drivers in the world), it is luck that decides wether you are #1 or #2.

Hell even the athletes themself admit they get lucky now and then.

I don't dispute that there is luck in the game. I dispute that either of those plays were lucky plays. Maybe the first touchdown, but definitely not the second one. Even in the first one if you notice the man kept his feet pointed to the infield as much as he could. He knew exactly where he was on the field, and the throw was precise.

I don't doubt Joe J has skills (on my fantasy team) but that catch where he tipped it over the defenders and spun to catch it was pure fucking luck.

Joe has made catches like the second TD his whole career. He's a posession receiver who's bread and butter is tip-toeing down sidelines. The first was half luck (tipped ball comes to him) and half skill (eye on the ball=hands on the ball).

I think that Joe is looking to have a great year, and building on the success he started having late last season.

I'm sort of torn. On one hand, I love how Warren Sapp talks a bunch of shit. On the other hand, I think he's sort of a prick. At any rate, I find it somewhat humorous that as of right now, Sapp is like the 10th or 12th most productive Tight End in the league.

Fucking fantasy football.

Sapp can't hardly play defense anymore so they have to try and get their money out of him somehow. I hope someone falls on his knee and breaks it.

As a football coach (albeit 7th grade level), there is very little luck involved in football. Hand-eye coordination is very hard to teach. I have maybe one or two kids with natural ability to concentrate hard and get a ball if it is misplaced through throwing or tipping.

Sapp is all talk. He was mediocre at best last year with an average 7.5 sacks. He certainly talked a lot more though to try and make up for it. If I remember right, they actually pulled him from the game on certain defenses last year.

I used to like him but last year between his trash talking and cheap hits, I just can't stand the guy anymore. He is an arrogant asshole and that is backed up by a lot of reporters and even young players. People who have tried to talk to him off the field are completely blown off. The guy thinks he's a god and he is just a has-been.

The reason his stats from last year are mediocre is because most teams in the league double team him. Do you think that it's a coincidence that Simeon Rice had 15.5 sacks? Football is team sport, bud, and individual stats mean jack and shit. In the game against ATL, he had what 3 tackles? But if you actually watched him play you would see that several times he beat his man and got into the backfield, forcing Dunn to change directions and bought enough time for someone else to get him in the backfield. He got back there and forced Doug Johnson to release the ball early, and caused an interception. But guess what? Dwight Smith got a credit for the interception. There are no stats representing what he brings as a player, and his presence and shit-talking intimidates other teams to no end. But an ignoramous such as yourself looks at the stat sheet, sees the number 7.5 and calls one of the best players in the league a has been.

I hate sapp because he is an outright asshole. Playing the game is one thing. Bragging about a big play is one thing. Going to the press and degrating the other teams defense/offense by name is classless and pathetic.

He deserves to get fucked up like the guy from GB last year.

After last year's game against the Packers, pretty much all of Green Bay has a major dislike for Sapp. His shot on Clifton was cheap no matter how much you say you were just playing the game. :-x

I meant would you want him on the team you support. Personally I think there are a lot dirtier players in the game and players that talk a lot more trash than Sapp. You can begin with Romanowski on the dirty side and T.O. on the talk side. The times I've seen him play I didn't notice him playing any dirtier than other players that play DT/NT. I saw the hit the made on Clifton and it seriously looked like Clifton wasn't paying attention to the play and got nailed and fell in a really bad way. Was it necessary? Probably not, but from everything I've ever learned about football the first rule is to never give up on a play. In that case one guy gave up on the play and the other didn't.

You crack me up. Just because the guy is cocky you think that takes away from his talent? Honestly, how many cheap shots have you seen him make? I know about the Clifton one (which btw was a legal hit) but what others have you seen? I know of only one time the man has actually been fined for roughness.

The first thing you learn in football is to keep your eyes open so you don't get fucking killed. Anyone who played the game at any level knows this, even my friend's 8 year old.

Sapp routinely gets cut blocked by fullbacks and tight ends. Do you hear him bitching about that shit? No, because it's how the game is played. If you don't wanna hit hard and get hit hard then you shouldn't be playing football.
